‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Gets A Freaking Awesome Motion Poster
Lionsgate has released a motion poster for the upcoming Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, and it is awesome.
Motion posters are a relatively cool trend in film promotion, and a welcome one that helps to bridge the gap between leaked set photos, official stills, and the eventual trailer, all of which whet our appetite for the upcoming film in question. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire motion poster is especially cool because it also reveals the new logo for the film, which is more ominous and edgy than the golden mockingjay of the previous entry.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence, who will also direct the two Mockingjay films as well. It stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, all of the other familiar faces from the first film, and newcomers Jena Malone and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a ‘Victor’s Tour’ of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
Catching Fire will be released on November 22, 2013. Check out the awesome motion poster below, and feel free to geek out in the comments:
