LuLaRoe Has Consumers Upset Over Leggings They Consider Racist
LuLaRoe leggings are really popular, and people are constantly buying new pairs. If you can’t find a pair of LuLaRoe, they call them a Unicorn and people will do anything to find them. Now some of the LuLaRoe leggings are under fire because people feel like they are actually racist. Buzz Feed shared about which leggings have LuLaRoe fans upset over them.
Aztec and tribal prints may be popular, but a lot of people are upset that LuLaRoe is using them. They also have one that looks like skulls and isn’t even just a pair of LuLaRoe Halloween leggings. Another one they have is Dreamcatcher LuLaRoe leggings. As Everyday Feminism shared, this can be considered racist. It is explained saying, “Despite this, folks still misrepresent our wares, and faux headdresses and made-in-China dreamcatchers proliferate the ‘Native American’ marketplace. This not only offends many of us on a racial level, but it takes away the livelihood of authentic, Native artisans who learned their craft through many generations.”

Headdresses is another one that really has people upset that LuLaRoe would put them on their leggings. A lot of people feel like these should be restricted to certain cultures and not just put on anything LuLaRoe wants to put them on. Apihtawikosisan explained part of why it is this way.
“For the most part, headdresses are restricted items. In particular, the headdress worn by most non-natives imitate those worn by various Plains nations. These headdresses are further restricted within the cultures to men who have done certain things to earn them. It is very rare for women in Plains cultures to wear these headdresses, and their ability to do so is again quite restricted.”
One pair of LuLaRoe leggings actually features a Swastika. A lot of people are very upset over these LuLaRoe leggings, and that one doesn’t even need an explanation. They are very small, so it appears they may have not been put on a pair of LuLaRoe leggings on purpose, but this s unknown.
Now the pair of LuLaRoe leggings that has people the most upset is supposed to be a sock monkey, but it doesn’t look like that at all. As of December 16, 2016, LuLaRoe is doing a voluntary recall of this print. They do realize how upset people are and now this pair will become a Unicorn. If you want a pair, they won’t be easy to find. These LuLaRoe leggings don’t look like a sock monkey, but are a bit more racist. They look more like something called a c** caricature and people are very upset over these LuLaRoe leggings.

This isn’t the first time that LuLaRoe has upset people. As the Inquisitr shared recently, a lot of people are upset that their LuLaRoe leggings have been ripping after just a couple of times of wearing them. For $25 a pair, they expect more out of them. Consultants were reported saying that you should take care of them like pantyhose and never put them in the dryer either. A lot of people feel like a pair of leggings should last longer than that, though.
Everyone will have to make their own decision if they still want to buy LuLaRoe leggings or not. There are also a lot of leggings out there that have things in inappropriate places, but these seem to be random mistakes.
