‘RoboCop’ Remake: Conceptual Artwork Leaked Online
Conceptual artwork for the upcoming RoboCop remake was recently leaked online, according to Worst Previews.
A four minute video featuring conceptual artwork from director Jose Padilha’s RoboCop was recently uploaded online. Unfortunately for those who can’t get enough information about the project, the clip has already been yanked by MGM.
However, the video was online long enough for someone to get some snapshots from the clip. A compilation of images from the leaked footage can be found embedded below.
As Screen Rant points out, the images you see beneath this article do contain mild spoilers. If you aren’t interested in learning anything about the film before it arrives in theaters, you may want to pass on the leaked conceptual footage.
The images show a number of different versions of the RoboCop suit, a few of which actually bare a striking resemblance to the one found in Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 action film. The screencaps also show off a few of the upcoming movie’s set pieces, as well as a look at the revamped version of ED-209.
What’s particularly interesting about the conceptual artwork is that one of RoboCop’s hands will remain intact. Instead of giving him a full set of mechanical mitts, the poor cyborg will have to make do with one made of flesh and bone.
Just a few days ago, a sneaky individual managed to snag a shot of another outfit worn by star Joel Kinnaman on the set of the RoboCop remake. As many fans have pointed out, the costume bears an uncanny resemblance to the armor worn by Robert Downey Jr. in the Iron Man films.
The RoboCop remake, which also stars Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, and Jackie Earle Haley, is expected to arrive in North American theaters on February 7, 2014. You can find the conceptual artwork below.
UPDATE: Metro-Goldwyn Mayer filed a copyright claim against the leaked material and it was removed.
