‘Life Of Pi’ Lifeboat Goes Up For Sale
Life Of Pi hasn’t hit theaters yet but fans are already eager to grab a piece of memorabilia from the film. Several movie props will be going on sale next week including the lifeboat used in the movie.
Reuters reports that the lifeboat from Life Of Pi will go on sale on November 19 by the online retailer Gilt Groupe. The boat, which served as one of the film’s main settings, will be listed at $40,000.
Life Of Pi focuses on the story of a young Indian boy who gets lost at sea. The boy travels the ocean, along with several animal companions, in his lifeboat.
IMDB writes:
“A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor … a fearsome Bengal tiger.”
The online sale will include several other props from the movie. Movie posters signed by director Ang Lee and several pieces of clothing from the movie will also be put up for sale.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward the Orangutan Foundation International.
Life Of Pi will hit theaters on November 21. The movie is based off the best selling novel by Yann Martel and was directed by Ang Lee.
