Cyndi Lauper Signs Up For Reality TV Show
Cyndi Lauper has signed up to be the subject of a reality TV show.
The 59-year-old singer, most famous for her hit “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, will let a camera crew enter her home and film her day-to-day life for a 12-part series titled Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual. The show will debut on the We-TV cable network in January.
The show will follow Lauper through her life as a working mother, a performer, and a supporter of philanthropic causes. David Thornton, her husband of 20 years, will also star, as will their 14-year-old son, Dylan.
This is not the first brush with reality TV the pop star has had. In 2010, Cyndi Lauper appeared on Donald Trump’s The Celebrity Apprentice, and it’s fair to say Lauper and Trump were never going to be the best of pals.
Cyndi Lauper’s latest reality show deal comes after plans to team up with TV mogul Mark Burnett for a reality show called Cyndi fell through.
Lauper was a major pop music star in the 1980s but has since spread her wings. As well as reality TV, the performer has also put out a best-selling book and has had a string of roles in film.
Of course, you, me, and everybody else above 25 knows her for this:
Does the idea of Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual appeal to you?
