‘The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones’ Gets A New Trailer, Poster [Video]
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones has received a brand new trailer and an eye-catching new poster, according to Cinema Blend.
Based on the first book in author Cassandra Clare’s popular Mortal Instruments series, the story follows the adventures of a young girl living in New York City who discovers members of her family are demon hunters.
The trailer you see embedded beneath this article is surprisingly engaging. Since City of Bones is one of the many young adult books picked up after the success of Twilight, many expected the film to be something slapped together quickly to take advantage of the craze. However, the clip is much more exciting and a lot creepier than I had originally anticipated.
Internet Movie Database describes the plot as follows:
“Clary Fray tumbles into the supernatural world when she visits a club called Pandemonium, and witnesses a murder. Following this tragic event Clary’s mother, Jocelyn, is kidnapped by a man called Valentine. She then calls on those who she saw at the club, and asks them to help her.
“In the search for the Mortal Cup, Clary makes decisions harder than any she has ever made. She falls in love, struggles with her best friend, and becomes the person her mother feared she would become.”
Lily Collins — who tackles the lead role of Clary — is joined by a talented cast including Lena Headey, Jamie Campbell Bower, Jared Harris, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Valentine Morgenstern. The film is directed by Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid remake, Agent Cody Banks).
According to MTV News, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones isn’t expected to arrive in theaters until August 23, 2013. Apparently it’s never too early to get the internet buzz started.
