Madonna Goes ‘Gangnam Style’ With Psy At Recent Concert [Video]
Madonna recently showed off her “Gangnam Style” skills with South Korean rapper Psy at a recent concert, according to USA Today.
The controversial singer was joined by Psy at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday evening. The two musicians decided to join forces for a performance of the rapper’s international hit, much to the sheer delight of those in attendance.
Proving that she’s not too old to bust a move with the best of them, Madonna and Psy wowed the audience with a crowd-pleasing rendition of “Gangnam Style,” a South Korean song that had captured the hearts of millions of music fans around the globe.
Sporting a bright red suit, Psy joined Madonna on stage at Madison Square Garden. The singer claimed the rapper had flown “all the way from Frankfurt, Germany this morning” just to take part in the show. Madonna also revealed that she’s a huge fan of his work.
Psy said that his performance with Madonna was one of the most thrilling things to happen to him over the past several months.
According to the Washington Post, Madonna also used her recent concert to help raise some cash for the victims of Superstorm Sandy. While the singer performed “Like a Virgin,” fans reportedly threw $3,000 worth of money on stage to benefit those who are still struggling to deal with the aftermath.
The success of “Gangnam Style” has been quite the ride for the South Korean musician. He explained to Rolling Stone magazine that the success of the video on YouTube ultimately catapulted him to unexpected fame and success.
“I was not important, I was not famous,” Psy explained. “Some celebrities like Katy Perry and Britney Spears, they started to tweet my video … CNN and ABC reported about me at the same time, and the LA Times, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal — that all happened at the same time in the same week. I don’t know why.”
