Looks like there’s something in the water. It was announced today that baseball player Nick Swisher and wife JoAnna Garcia Swisher are expecting their first child together.
Swisher, who’s currently a free agent after playing for the New York Yankees, decided to announce the exciting news via his Facebook page today in a post that read:
“We are so excited to finally be able to share our exciting news with you! We are expecting a little Swisher in the spring of 2013! Words can’t describe how blessed we feel to be expanding our family and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new addition. Your support and kindness has meant so much to us throughout the years and we wanted to personally share the news with you all.”
Nick and JoAnna Swisher were engaged in 2009, and, in the past, Nick Swisher told PEOPLE about his love for his wife, saying, “I think for the first time in my life, I have a woman who I could not be more proud of. We do such a great job really pushing the other one to do better and I think that’s what you have to have.”
Following their engagement, the couple wed on December of the following year in front of family and friends in Palm Beach. Of her husband and the father to be, JoAnna told PEOPLE :
“I think for the first time in my life, I have a woman who I could not be more proud of We do such a great job really pushing the other one to do better and I think that’s what you have to have.”
