Anne Hathaway Has Confirmed Her Role In ‘Robopocalypse’

Anne Hathaway has confirmed that she will star in the upcoming Steven Spielberg film Robopocalypse, according to Indiewire.

The busy actress told Empire magazine during a recent interview that she has every intention of starring in the adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson’s novel. As long as nothing goes haywire between now and then, Hathaway is down for the movie.

“If ‘Robopocalypse’ happens I will be in it and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything,” she explained. However, she refused to give any details on which character she would tackle in the upcoming feature.

Presently, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and Skyfall co-star Ben Whishaw are attached to star alongside Hathaway in the film. According to Internet Movie Database, the movie has a tentative release date of April 25, 2014.

Cinema Blend reports that rumors of Hathaway’s involvement in the picture have been swirling around the production for quite some time. However, the film’s hefty budget may have caused the movie to stall for the time being. Given that Spielberg is a fan of the source material, chances are we’ll see Robopocalypse in theaters before too long.

Amazon describes the novel’s story as follows:

“Not far into our future, the dazzling technology that runs our world turns against us. Controlled by a childlike—yet massively powerful—artificial intelligence known as Archos, the global network of machines on which our world has grown dependent suddenly becomes an implacable, deadly foe. At Zero Hour—the moment the robots attack—the human race is almost annihilated, but as its scattered remnants regroup, humanity for the first time unites in a determined effort to fight back.”

While you’re waiting for Robopocalypse to happen, you can catch the Dark Knight Rises co-star in Les Miserables on December 25 or watch her become mesmerized by the Sloppy Swish.
