Kirstie Alley To Barbara Walters: ‘John Travolta Is Not Gay’
It seems as though Kirstie Alley’s interview with Barbara Walters about John Travolta is taking a life of its own in the media. In what was probably a bid to end those pesky rumors about good friend John Travolta’s sexuality goodbye, Alley has unintentionally fueled everything with her comments to Walters.
In her interview with Walters, Kirstie Alley slams those rumors down about John Travolta’s homosexuality. Instead, she gave a very long, but thoughtful explanation on why he couldn’t be gay. Telling Walters, “I know John. With all my heart and soul, he’s not gay. I think it’s some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they’re not out doing drugs and they’re not womanizing, what do you say about them?”
It was recently revealed that Kirstie Alley, is not only Travolta’s dear friend and Scientology buddy, but that at one point Kirstie was thinking about running off and marrying John Travolta. In the interview she had also said that he was “the greatest love of my life.”
The pair met on the set of Look Who’s Talking, which eventually turned into a three film franchise, which starred Travolta and Alley from 1989 to1993.
In addition to admitting her feelings for Travolta, which might have been a little awkward for his wife Kelly Preston, Alley also admitted to Entertainment Tonight, that she had a secret affair with late actor Patrick Swayze. Alley, who is currently a dancing contestant on Dancing With The Stars said of the affair, “I think when you fall in love with someone when you’re married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It’s doubly bad.”
