Mindy Kaling Discusses Perks Of Being In Charge Of ‘The Mindy Project’

According to the star and creator of The Mindy Project, prime-time power comes with a bunch of perks.

According to TODAY, on Tuesday night’s Conan, Mindy Kaling admitted that she gets a much bigger kick out of on-screen kisses now that she is in charge of casting the men that she kisses. Kaling explained her favorite perk to Conan saying:

“On The Office, I had to kiss people and things like that, but on this show, there’s like full-on, roll-around make-outs and stuff. And so, I get to cast those people.”

Kaling also explained to Conan that she could make the actors a little uncomfortable as well. Kaling explained by saying:

“When I’m rolling around and making out with someone, in my experience, I don’t do that that often where I’m not saying something like, ‘I love you,’ to them. So it’s very hard. I have to not say (that) … to the actor I’m doing that with, cause it really creeps them out.”

Kaling tends to lack control when she kisses her on-screen partners as well. This could lead to some trouble. Kaling told Conan:

“When you kiss in real life, when you are feeling passionate, you use your tongue, but on TV, you’re not supposed to use your tongue. You fake it.” “

Kaling joked about the matter by saying, “Yeah, and when I do it on the show now, it’s like the worse kind of sexual harassment because I’m like the boss, and they’re scared to complain because I’ll fire them.”
