The Geriatric Version Of ‘The Hangover’, ‘Last Vegas’ Begins Production
Are you ready to see what the geriatric version The Hangover looks like? It’s old men with six Oscar nominations between them behaving badly. Following the old adage that men never truly act their age, a new Wolf Pack will show up to Las Vegas in what’s being called Last Vegas.
The upcoming comedy about a wild bachelor party thrown by a very old group of friends will feature four men who have celebrated 14 Oscar nominations between them. The cast stars Morgan Freeman (who’s still not dead, by the way), Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, and Kevin Kline. The youngest of the brood is Kline at the ripe age of 65; Freeman happens to be the oldest of the bunch, with three death hoaxes under his belt at 75.
The pack has already begun shooting at the filming location of Las Vegas. The pack is also said to shoot in Atlanta, Georgia as well. Although the premise sounds awfully similar to The Hangover, it is not being helmed by director Todd Philips. Instead director Jon Turteltaub of National Treasure and While You Were Sleeping is churning out what will probably be a hit. The screenplay treatment is said to be written by Crazy, Stupid, Love scribe Dan Fogelman, and additional cast members are Mary Steenburgen, Jerry Ferrara, Romany Malco, and Roger Bart.
It is not yet said what roles the additional cast will take on, but here’s hoping Steenburgen plays a controlling wife to one of the men. The film is said to drop into theaters December 20, 2013.
Will you be seeing this Hangover-centric film for geriatrics?
