‘American Horror Story’ Episode 203: ‘Nor’easter’ Recap
In American Horror Story Episode 203: “Nor’Easter,” a storm hits Briarcliff Manor. Will the inmates take advantage and attempt an escape? Caution: Spoilers Ahead.
As show creator Ryan Murphy hinted at last week, tonight’s episode started with a jump-cut infused bang as we learn the fate of Adam Levine and Jenna Dewan Tatum’s honeymooning couple, Leo and Theresa. The two had a brush with the mythical “Bloody Face” which cost Leo an arm. But are they dealing with the real Bloody Face or a sadistic copy-cat?
Back in 1964, Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) is haunted by her criminal past. It was revealed last week that the saintly Jude is anything but. After a night of drinking and carousing with any man she could get her hands on, she plowed her car into a little girl.
The incredibly creepy Dr. Arden (James Cromwell) attempts to figure out just what exactly he removed from Kit’s neck in the season premiere. The little microchip-looking thing that sprouted legs and ran off two weeks ago is now in pieces. When he puts the pieces near each other, they quickly jump back together. His paranoia gets the better of him, and he accuses Kit of being a spy.
Sister Mary Eunice continues to strike fear in the inmates since becoming possessed by a demon last week. I love the change in actress Lily Rabe’s character. Sister Mary began the show as a cowardly, mousy little thing easily pushed around by the rest of the staff. Now she is a cunning and manipulative foil to both Sister Jude and Dr. Arden.
The action in AHS this week centers on the titular “Nor’easter” quickly approaching. Sister Jude hopes to distract the patients during the worst of it with a movie night. But, with several inmates plotting an escape, a murderous possessed nun on the loose, and “Raspers” running around outside, a storm is the least of their troubles at Briarcliff.
What did you think of tonight’s Halloween episode of American Horror Story 203, “Nor’easter”? Did our first real glimpse of the Raspers thoroughly creep you out?
