‘WWE Monday Night Raw’ Results: Stephanie McMahon Takes Jab At CM Punk In Chicago
One week after Braun Strowman laid out both Seth Rollins and United States Champion Roman Reigns, the drama continued to unfold on this year’s final episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. The show aired live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, a city and venue that are always very vocal for WWE Raw. In a place that always preferred C.M. Punk to John Cena, it was no surprise that Roman Reigns was not well received. Reigns, Rollins and Sami Zayn all wanted to get their hands on the Abominable Strowman, but Stephanie McMahon only gave one of them the opportunity.
Roman Reigns would end up putting his United States Championship on the line against Kevin Owens, while Seth Rollins ended up receiving a beating from both Braun Strowman and Chris Jericho. Of course, the crowd in Chicago chanted for C.M. Punk early on, but Stephanie McMahon had a response ready that kept the WWE Universe quiet in the Windy City.
WWE Monday Night Raw Results
The following includes the results of all the matches and segments from WWE Raw on December 26, which aired live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago. Raw has won the “ratings war” with the blue brand ever since the separate rosters were established, although SmackDown LIVE has been keeping the competition close. Will the ratings victory streak remain alive as this week’s Monday Night Raw kicks off the final week of WWE television programming for 2016?
Digital: Raw Pre-Show on YouTube
The Raw Pre-Show, which was scheduled to air live on YouTube ten minutes prior to Monday Night Raw, never aired. No notice was given by WWE that it was cancelled and the subject wasn’t mentioned on the USA Network.
Stephanie McMahon booked U.S. title match and mocked C.M. Punk
Predictably, the WWE Universe in Chicago started chanting for C.M. Punk shortly after Commissioner Stephanie McMahon started speaking as WWE Monday Night Raw began. To cut them off, she simply made fun of Punk’s disappointing MMA debut.
“Keep that up for another two minutes and fifteen seconds and you’ll last longer than C.M. Punk.”
Before long, she was joined in the ring by Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, who both wanted a match with Braun Strowman. She granted the match to Rollins and told Reigns that he would have to defend his title later in the show against an opponent of her choosing. The first match of the night, however, would be The New Day vs. Cesaro and Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Championship.
Cesaro and Sheamus defeated The New Day
As represented by Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, The New Day were given the opportunity to become three-time Tag Team Champions in a rematch against Cesaro and Sheamus. They came up short, however, as the champs retained.

Nia Jax defeated Scarlett
With virtually no effort, Nia Jax defeated Scarlett, a local talent from Chicago who was inspired by Sasha Banks.

Charlotte Flair defeated Bayley
As Bayley was cutting an in-ring promo about being 3-0 against Charlotte Flair, the Raw Women’s Champion came to the ring to interrupt. She told Bayley that her shoulder was up before the referee counted to three (as evidenced by video replay) so Charlotte had Bayley’s last victory ex-sponged from the record. She did offer Bayley another one-on-one opportunity, but it came with Dana Brooke as the special guest referee. Of course, Charlotte won the match, but not without Brooke helping her bend the rules.
Neville defeated T.J. Perkins
As Austin Aries temporarily replaced Byron Saxton on commentary, Neville got another win, although he did it by holding T.J. Perkins’ tights for the pin. Afterwards, he cut a very anti-American promo when interviewed by Charly Caruso.

Enzo & Big Cass called out Rusev and Jinder Mahal
After Rusev and Jinder Mahal double-teamed Enzo Amore last week, Colin Cassady pushed Enzo out in a leopard-print wheelchair to call out his two assailants. They made their way to the ring together, and even with Enzo in a wheelchair, Rusev and Jinder came up on the losing end of the brawl.

Braun Strowman interrupted The Shining Stars vs. Darren Young and Bo Dallas
After The Shining Stars insulted Bob Backlund earlier in the day, Bo Dallas and Darren Young convinced him to keep his anger in check and allow them to take on Primo and Epico in tag team action. However, before the match could finish, Braun Strowman made his way to the ring and laid out all four competitors.
Sami Zayn interrupted Braun Strowman vs. Seth Rollins
In a match that was mostly going Braun Strowman’s way, his new nemesis Sami Zayn showed up in the middle of the match to attack his opponent for next week’s Last Man Standing Match. As Strowman chased Zayn to the back, Rollins was left in the ring, still recovering from the beating he received from Strowman. Chris Jericho used this opportunity to get some revenge on Rollins, hitting him with two Code Breakers before joining Kevin Owens backstage in celebration.

Gallows & Anderson defeated The Golden Truth
Earlier in the show, Bayley had given Goldust a Dusty Rhodes bear from the WWE Shop, reminding Dustin that his father had inspired her to be the competitor that she is today. Soon after, Gallows and Anderson came by, saw the teddy bear and ripped its head off. They made rather short work of The Golden Truth in their tag team match.

Rich Swann defeated Ariya Daivari
In a non-title match, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann defeated Ariya Daivari. Afterwards, as Swann was being interviewed by Charly Caruso, he was attacked from behind by Neville. The “King of the Cruiserweights” will face the Cruiserweight Champion on 205 Live this week.
After a commercial break, Caruso interviewed Ariya Daivari backstage, who claimed that he lost his match because he was worried Jack Gallagher — who Daivari called a “soundrel” — would interfere in the match. Gallagher showed up, slapped Daivari with a glove and challenged him to a “gentlemen’s duel” on 205 Live. Both Neville vs. Swann and Gallagher vs. Daivari were officially booked for the show on the WWE Network, immediately following SmackDown LIVE.
Roman Reigns defeated Kevin Owens
In the main event, Kevin Owens was given the opportunity to hold both the Universal and United States Championships when he faced Roman Reigns. Chris Jericho was at ringside to try to help his best friend become a dual champion, but they were soon joined by Seth Rollins, who provided just the distraction needed to give his former partner from The Shield the advantage and the win over Owens.
