Fifth Harmony: Has Camila Cabello Already Signed A Solo Record Deal With Republic Records? [Rumors]
Fifth Harmony have had a seriously rocky past 48 hours, including the bombshell news that Camila Cabello had quit the band and leaked audio in which Lauren Jauregui allegedly claimed their management treat them like slaves, but now rumors are circulating that Harmonizers could be dealt another blow as Cabello may have already signed her own solo record deal.
Just two days after Fifth Harmony announced in a statement that Camila had decided to leave the girl band, rumors are swirling that Cabello may have already landed her own record deal with Republic Records as fans anticipate her upcoming solo music.
Eagle-eyed Fifth Harmony fans noticed that representatives from the record company appeared to drop hints that Cabello could be joining the Republic Records family when she officially embarks on her solo career, as ATRL user Toxicity posted a screenshot to the music message board showing that Republic Records Executive Vice President Gary Spangler commented on Camila’s statement about leaving Fifth Harmony on Instagram.
After Camila hit back at the band in a statement of her own uploaded to the social media site on December 19, the screenshot posted to the message board showed that Spangler commented on Cabello’s post about her Fifth Harmony departure, “You’re a star. It’s your time,” alongside a shooting star emoji.
Although neither Camila nor Republic Records have commented on the rumors, the screenshot sent shockwaves through Fifth Harmony fans, who then flocked to social media to speculate on the rumor that Cabello may have already signed a record deal with Republic Records mere hours after it was announced that Camila had quit the band.
“It is said that Camila signed with Republic Records that means we are going to have new music, hopefully soon, & she will be happy,” Fifth Harmony fan @0nlycam tweeted out of Camila’s solo record deal rumors, while @SIZZLERGRANDE wrote on the 140-character site, “Camila is doing the right thing if she has actually signed with Republic Records… Like s***, this is BIG.”
Camila Cabello and Republic Records have not commented on the solo record deal claims, the rumors that Cabello may already have signed on the dotted line for a solo recording contract come shortly after People reported that the four remaining Fifth Harmony girls did everything they could to keep the band together, but claimed that Cabello “wanted no part” in their attempts to remain a five-piece.
According to a Fifth Harmony insider who spoke to People, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane, and Normani Kordei allegedly knew Cabello was unhappy in the group and supposedly scheduled meetings and therapy sessions for the star, all of which Camila reportedly failed to attend.
“The four remaining girls have tried to set up multiple meetings over the past few months, including an intervention-like sit-down with everyone involved, and Camila did not show,” a Fifth Harmony source told the site of the long-reported tension that likely led to Cabello’s decision to quit the band almost five years after they were formed on The X Factor USA.
“[Camila] would not show up for these meetings, ever,” continued the Fifth Harmony source of Cabello, adding that the girls “even flew a therapist out on the road with them on tour so they could sit down and have group therapy” to no avail.
“They kept trying to talk to her to understand what was happening,” the Fifth Harmony insider added of the girls’ recent interactions with Cabello. “Camila did not show. She wanted no part in any of this.”
But as Camila’s alleged solo recording contract deal rumors continue to be pure conjecture, despite months of reports of drama within the band, Cabello has certainly made no secret of her hopes to release solo music outside of Fifth Harmony.
Camila has alluded to solo music on various occasions across her social media platforms and has also dropped big time tracks outside of Fifth Harmony, including 2015’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Shawn Mendes and “Bad Things” with Machine Gun Kelly earlier this year.
What do you think of the swirling rumors claiming that Camila Cabello may have already signed a solo record deal with Republic Records just days after it was announced that she had decided to quit Fifth Harmony?
