Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Update: First Photos Of Couple Holding Hands As It Gets Serious For The Holidays

Though Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle have parted ways for the holidays, that doesn’t mean that their relationship isn’t going full steam ahead. Prince Harry and Markle were seen this weekend in London holding hands while shopping for a Christmas tree. Markle is now back on her way to Toronto (it’s where she is currently working), but it seems clear that Markle and the prince are together, and they don’t care who knows it.

Over the last year, Prince Harry has seen the last of his close friends marry off, and he has been clear that he would like to get married and have children of his own, says the Inquisitr. For a while, Harry seemed to bounce around between a few select mostly blondes, but now, the wild Prince Harry seems to be a thing of the past, as he has started dating American actress, Meghan Markle. Prince Harry now seems to be closer to finding a partner, and settle into a life more like his older brother, Prince William.

The Wandsworth Guardian reported seeing Prince Harry out and about, around London, shopping for a Christmas tree with his girlfriend, Meghan Markle. The prince and Markle were seen walking around Battersea at a place called Pines and Needles, where they settled on a Nordmann Fir.

The tree seller, Zaqia Crawford from New York, had to be told that the couple was the prince and Markle.

“They knew exactly which tree they wanted – it wasn’t exactly a long process. They were really friendly, really nice… I didn’t know it was them at all.”

Her colleague, Ollie Wilkinson, recognized the cuddling couple and commented that they were holding hands.

“I knew exactly what it was so I thought I had to. I said ‘would you like this mistletoe’ and she [Meghan] said ‘yes that would be great’. He [Harry] then squeezed one of the berries on it and was like ‘I find this stuff weird’ and then she was like ‘oh, I really like it.'”

Prince Harry offered to carry the tree himself and shook hands with the vendors before he left with Markle to take their new tree home.

Before photos surfaced of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle holding hands, it was still somewhat possible for them to say that they were just friends, but Vanity Fair says that the prince and Markle have now provided the public with “proof” by cuddling in public, holding hands, and even wearing matching beanies.

An early hint was a necklace worn by Markle that had an “H” and an “M” on it. Next was a photo of showing up at the palace gate carrying bags from Whole Foods, plausibly to cook dinner with or for Prince Harry. But last week, the couple went out together to see a play in the West End, wearing matching beanies (Harry’s was blue and Megan’s was black). In photos, the two are holding hands. Sources who saw the couple out that night were stunned to see them be so casual.

“Harry has said his privacy is important to him but they are clearly not afraid to be seen in public together. As an actress Meghan loves the theatre so this was an obvious date to go on.”

This last week was thought of as the couple’s coming out to the world, as they are no longer even trying to hide anything. The couple will not be together, as per royal family policy, you need to be engaged to get a Sandringham Christmas invite, but the couple will likely find their way back together after the 26th.
