Nicole Kidman Tells Graham Norton: ‘Oh God! You’re So Brutal!’ [Video]
Nicole Kidman was recently a guest on The Graham Norton Show and, while she might have thought she was prepared for her guest spot, Kidman was taken by surprise by the antics of the show’s host. As he had previously done with Jennifer Lawrence and Ben Affleck, Norton forced Ms. Kidman to relive her past with a few embarrassing photos. Nicole found the nostalgic photos to be inspirational in a way, giving her a good laugh about how much she has changed in the intervening years. Ms. Kidman also commented on her relationship with Keith Urban and the remarkable support he has given her in her toughest times.
The Graham Norton Show Forces Nicole Kidman To Take A Walk Down Memory Lane
As Entertainment Tonight reveals, Graham Norton took an opportunity to roast Nicole Kidman over her past magazine covers, when the Big Little Lies star appeared as a guest on the talk show. The segment began with Graham remarking that he had always been a big fan of Dolly magazine, which had once featured Kidman on its cover. In fact, Norton suggested to Nicole that Dolly had been an important stepping stone in the actress’s career.
“Yeah. I got on the cover of Dolly magazine,” Kidman shared.
When the image of Kidman, then 14-years-old, was displayed on the monitor, Nicole began to suspect she was being set up as the butt of a joke.
“Are you being facetious?”
Graham insisted that he was being serious with the Big Little Lies actress, telling her that she looked “fabulous” and sending out more images from that photo shoot.
“Oh god, you’re so brutal!” Kidman laughed.
Nicole admitted that she was actually envious of her younger self, as the photos flashed by on the screen. She says she wishes she could have her curls back, but after so many years, she’s concerned about doing further damage to her hair.
Keith Urban “Carried” Nicole Kidman Through The Death Of Her Dad
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban recently shared their 10-year wedding anniversary and, according to Entertainment Tonight, the actress is still gushing over her husband, who she first met in 2005. Nicole says she shared an immediate chemistry with Urban, which is something she says is a powerful force in bringing people together. Just a year later, Nicole and Keith were married and have shared everything ever since.
Kidman recalled the most troubling time in her life, the death of her father, Dr. Tony Kidman, who passed away in September of 2014.
“I knew at some point that was going to come,” Ms. Kidman said of her father’s death. “But boy, when it comes, it’s — it lays you out. It laid me out. I was like, ‘I don’t even know how to get up from this.'”
Nicole remembers that she called Keith, feeling terribly distraught and hysterical. Urban dropped everything, literally. The country music singer had just stepped onto the stage to start a concert, but the phone call was enough to get him to cancel the show and jump on a plane.
“And he literally picked me up and carried — pretty much carried me through the next two weeks,” Kidman shared. “And that, to me, that’s a marriage, and that’s love. And I’m so grateful to have that.”
Nicole adds that she also had her children, so she wasn’t alone in her moments of sudden grief and suffering, but it meant everything to have Keith there, as well. Together with Urban, Nicole has two daughters, Sunday Rose, 8, and Faith Margaret, who will soon celebrate her sixth birthday.
Nicole Kidman has two more children with ex-husband, Tom Cruise. They are 23-year-old Isabella and 21-year-old Connor.
