Phaedra Parks On Apollo Nida’s Engagement, Kenya Moore’s Matt Jordan Drama, And Kandi Burruss And Mama Joyce Tension

During Phaedra Parks’ appearance on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live (WWHL) on Sunday night, after the airing of the latest The Real Housewives of Atlanta episode, she spoke out about some of the biggest controversies, both those on and off the air, facing her and the other cast members. Some of the topics touched upon included her ex Apollo Nida’s engagement to Sherien Almufti, Kenya Moore’s relationship drama with Matt Jordan, her friendship, or lack thereof, with Kandi Burruss, and the attempts of Kandi’s mom, Mama Joyce, to try to make her look bad.

Last week, TMZ published engagement photos that Apollo and Sherien took from inside prison. On WWHL, Andy showed the engagement photos and asked Phaedra about it. Unfortunately for Phaedra’s fans who were hoping to get her real thoughts on Sherien and some more information on Apollo’s relationship with Sherien, such as if it’s really true, as TMZ reported, that the relationship started even before he reported to prison two years ago, Phaedra remained mum.

“My best wishes,” Phaedra replied succinctly in response to the photos.

Nor did Phaedra reveal whether she has had any contact with Sherien of if she has spoken to Apollo regarding Sherien. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, viewers will apparently see Sherien in a scene with some of the other cast members later this season, as well as on the phone with Apollo. Viewers will also reportedly see Phaedra’s reaction upon learning about the engagement.

Phaedra did, however, confirm that her divorce from Apollo is final.

“Thank you, Jesus, it is final. TMZ even said so, so you know it’s true.”

When a viewer called in and asked about the more recent TMZ report that states that Apollo is contesting the validity of the divorce since Phaedra’s divorce petition spelled his name wrong, Phaedra maintained that she and Apollo are definitely divorced.

“TMZ reported it correctly the first time. We are divorced.”

Now that Phaedra’s a divorced woman, is she dating? Will viewers see her, like Apollo, go public with another person? As for her own love life, Phaedra remained coy about whether she’s dating.

“Hopefully so,” she replied when Andy asked if she’s dating.

In recent days, there were reports that Phaedra’s now dating Welcome to Sweetie Pies cast member Tim Norman. According to the Jasmine Brand, Phaedra and Tim aren’t dating, for Tim is in a relationship with Basketball Wives alum Jennifer Williams. The website cites a source who said that Tim and Jennifer are very happy together and don’t want to comment on the Phaedra rumors.

“Tim and Jennifer are very much together and happy.”

Another relationship that has been a big focus on this season of TheReal Housewives of Atlanta is that of Kenya Moore and Matt Jordan. On Sunday night’s episode, viewers saw Kenya and Matt get into a very tense argument about his jealous behavior and violent tendencies. Kenya confronted Matt about breaking her garage door window, a claim that was backed by security camera footage of a man who looks to be Matt doing the deed and running away. Matt yelled that Kenya was using him and accused her of ambushing him with the camera crew.

On his talk show, Andy brought up the current off-camera drama that’s happening between Kenya and Matt, reading a rant that Matt posted last week on social media that accused Kenya of using him for story line. Phaedra said that she’s not sure what’s going on with Kenya and Matt. Phaedra added that if Kenya’s allegations are true, then she feels bad for her.

“I don’t know what’s going on with them. They’ve been together over a year now and I’m not really sure because I try to mind my own business, unlike most. I feel bad for Kenya if it’s as crazy as it sounds.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Matt Jordan has accused Kenya of manipulating him, and the show of feeding viewers lies. Kenya, meanwhile, has maintained that she’s telling the truth, has always told the truth and that what viewers are watching on the show was not fabricated. Even Kenya’s co-star Kandi Burruss has come out in defense of Kenya, proclaiming that Kenya’s relationship with Matt was real.

On season 8 of Real Housewives, Phaedra Parks and Kenya had a tearful heart-to-heart conversation during which Phaedra apologized for all of the negative things that she, believing that Kenya was purposefully trying to hurt her by trying to get with Apollo Nida, has said about Kenya through the years. Kenya maintained that she never actually wanted Apollo and accepted the apology. Both agreed to move on from their past drama.

On the current season, Phaedra and Kenya Moore are actually friendly with one another and have been shown meeting one-on-one for some friendly banter. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, both Phaedra and Kenya have recently confirmed that they’re trying to build a friendship.

One person Phaedra definitely doesn’t much affection for is Kandi’s mom Mama Joyce. As viewers saw on the latest The Real Housewives of Atlanta episode that aired on Sunday night, Mama Joyce actually met up with a lawyer to verify whether Phaedra’s explanation as to why her divorce from Apollo was taking so long could be true or if she was just lying. According to Phaedra, the divorce was dragging because Apollo wouldn’t sign the legal documents. Mama Joyce believed that Phaedra could get a divorce, even without Apollo’s cooperation, if she really wanted to under Georgia law. Mama Joyce accused Phaedra of lying, implying that Phaedra wasn’t going through with the divorce because she herself was involved in Apollo’s fraudulent activities that placed him behind bars.

Andy asked Phaedra if she was surprised to see Mama Joyce meet with the lawyer in an attempt to prove her wrong. Phaedra replied that she’s never surprised at the lengths that Mama Joyce will go to get some air time.

“I’m never surprised with these ladies.”

When Andy read off a tweet that Kandi posted as the scene aired, in which she denied knowing about Mama Joyce’s meeting with the lawyer, Phaedra didn’t seem that convinced of Kandi’s innocence. As the Inquisitr reported, Kandi maintained on Sunday night via social media that she does not have Mama Joyce do her dirty work.

For those wondering if there is still any shred of friendship between Kandi and Phaedra, Phaedra made it clear that there is none and there hasn’t been for a while now.

“All good things come to an end and it ended almost two years ago. There is very polite and cordial but there is no relationship.”

A preview for next week’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta episode shows Kandi and Phaedra meeting for dinner at Phaedra’s request. The dinner turns tense when Kandi criticizes Phaedra for crying to former co-star NeNe Leakes, with whom Kandi had a tense relationship with, about their friendship. Kandi points out that Phaedra didn’t even cry over the demise of her marriage to Apollo Nida, thereby implying that Phaedra threw their friendship under the bus just for a story line. Phaedra retorts that perhaps she cared more about their friendship than her marriage, which prompts Kandi, clearly believing Phaedra to be putting up an act once again, to let out an incredulous laugh.

On Watch What Happens Live, Phaedra Parks said that she was actually surprised that Kandi Burruss was so aggressive during the dinner. Phaedra went so far as calling Kandi’s behavior “hostile.” Phaedra even accused Kandi of being the one to use her for a storyline, commenting that Kandi needs a new story line instead of continuing to be angry at her over what happened seasons ago.

“She was very hostile and it was like ‘where is this hostility coming from’? This has been going on for three seasons now. Get a new story line.”
