Kandi Burruss started 2016 with a happy event. She gave birth to her son, Ace, in January, and he turned out to be a happy and healthy baby. However, it didn’t take long for Burruss to start experiencing the drama that frequently comes along with The Real Housewives of Atlanta . She started filming the show a few months after Ace was born, and she was quickly entangled in the drama. While she hadn’t talked to the ladies since wrapping up the previous season, Kandi knew she would probably have to deal with some drama.
According to a new Instagram post, Kandi Burruss is now revealing that the drama from the show and the delays with her restaurant actually influenced whether she had a good or a bad year. Burruss opened up on Instagram about running into issues in 2016 that she would have preferred to avoid. While she didn’t point to specific Real Housewives of Atlanta issues and fights, she hinted that people were starting to show their true colors, and she didn’t think that they were reliable friends.

“This message spoke to me when I saw it. 2016 has been a crazy year for me & a lot of people that I know. My year started off amazing with the birth of my baby boy Ace, but then there was a turn at some point where it just seemed like all types of unnecessary drama started happening, all kinds of obstacles kept getting in the way of things I was trying to accomplish, people that meant me no good started showing their true colors, things that I thought never would happen… happened, & I could just go on & on,” Kandi Burruss revealed on her Instagram account yesterday, sharing that she hoped the year would feature less drama and more success stories.
Of course, Kandi Burruss has been honest about how she feels about certain people, which could ruin some friendships. And as fans will see on the upcoming episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta , Kandi and Phaedra Parks will sit down to talk about their friendship.
Their friendship went awry a few years ago after Apollo Nida went to prison and Kandi and her husband decided to store some of his assets at their home. Parks was unaware of these assets and thought that Kandi was on her side. But Kandi Burruss is now revealing that she won’t even let friendships hold her back. She reveals that she wants to move forward and refuse to get caught up in the petty arguments with co-stars.

“Some things I had to just “Let Go & Let God do the work. Other things I had to get over & push thru with God so that I could do the work that needed to be done to turn things around. I refuse to let anybody, any obstacle, or anything to get me down & keep me there. I’m claiming my joy & my victory! 2016 is already starting to look up finally at the end but I’m surely looking forward to 2107 being amazing,” Kandi Burruss concluded in her lengthy Instagram post, sharing that she’s determined to make 2017 a better year without too much drama.
Maybe Kandi needs to consider leaving her role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta if she wants to cut out all of the drama in her life. It sounds like the drama come with the show and that her life is much more peaceful without it.
What do you think of Kandi Burruss having a stressful year and her decision to have a better 2017?
