Sunday’s portion of the Week 14 NFL schedule will conclude with a huge battle in the NFC East as the Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Giants from Met Life Stadium.
This game is going to be must-see TV for any and all NFL fans.
According to an SB Nation report, the Cowboys are coming into this game on one of the best roles in NFL history, while the Giants look to do something no one else has been able to do this year, except for them – and that’s defeat the Dallas Cowboys.
Eli Manning and the New York Giants defeated Dallas in Week 1 of the season by the final score of 22-19. Since that game, the Dallas Cowboys have gone a perfect 11-0 and are currently the number one seed in the NFC and the number one seed overall.
Behind the combination of a pair of rookies, Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys are poised to clinch the NFC East title tonight if they can take down the Giants, however, it won’t be that easy. Nevertheless, Prescott is ready to get a bit of revenge on the team that handed the Cowboys their only blemish this season.
“I’m looking forward to it a lot personally, and then I know this team (is),” Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott said. “They’re the only blemish on our record right now. And just to be able to go up there at their place and be able to do what they did to us the first game, we’re excited for the opportunity.”
The Cowboys were the first team in the NFL to officially clinch a spot in the 2016 NFL playoffs last week, but the Giants have quietly had a very good year, and are still within shouting distance of the first-place Boys. A win this evening could pull New York to within two games of Dallas, and with three games left on the schedule you never know what can happen.
While Dallas has played excellent football the entire season one hurdle, they haven’t been able to avoid over the past few seasons is Eli Manning and the Giants who seemingly have Dallas’ number of late.
New York has won the last two match-ups in this series and will look to extend that win streak to three in a row Sunday night.
The one thing that seems to be consistent when these two teams meet is that no matter how wild the game is, high scoring or low scoring, the end result is usually decided by a touchdown or less especially over the last five years.
The biggest margin of victory since 2012 between these two teams was a 10-point win by the Cowboys back on October 19, 2014. Dallas won that game 31-21.
The last four meetings between these two have been decided by a total of 12 points. Tonight’s game has the looks of the same knock down drag out battle in which the winner may be the last team to have the ball.
Las Vegas odds makers have the Dallas Cowboys listed as a 3.5 point favorite, with the over/under set at 47.
When it comes to picking winners against the Vegas spread, every point counts. It’s that extra half-point that makes the Giants look like a great home dog play here.
Pick: NY Giants +3.5
