Johnny Depp is reportedly having a tough time dealing with the whirlwind divorce and the drama that ensued between himself and his ex, Amber Heard. The former high-profile couple made constant headlines over the late spring and summer months after Heard sought a restraining order against Depp, accusing him of domestic violence, and then filed for divorce in May.
The exes reached an agreement in August and since have been carrying on in their respective careers and social circles. While Heard has appeared rather frequently enjoying time with friends and has been a part of a domestic violence PSA, Depp has been sighted looking depressed lately.
A source spoke with Page Six giving details about a sighting at the Sunset Hotel in Los Angeles looking “sad and lonely.”
“He was alone but with two bodyguards, sitting out by the pool, looking depressed and lonely smoking a cigar.”
Although the notable actor is likely down about the manner his volatile relationship with Amber Heard came to an end, there is also a possibility that the actor is a little glum over earning the Overpaid Actor award by Forbes magazine for the second year in a row. The publication announced Johnny as being the topper of their list earlier this week and also made note that Depp may have a struggle on his hands in regard to having success with upcoming roles due to the abuse claims that Heard made prior to filing for divorce.

Despite the difficulty that Depp has faced over the past few months and continues to face in regard to his career and flops at the box office, the star continues to make appearances for various causes. Most recently the Pirates of the Caribbean star dropped by a children’s hospital dressed as a character that the world has come to love, Captain Jack Sparrow.

The Daily Mail reports about Depp’s visit to the London hospital that made a whole lot of children very happy.
“…on Friday, Johnny Depp morphed into his Pirates Of The Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow to visit sick kids in London’s Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital for Christmas. He suited up in his familiar tricorn hat that he wore over his red head band and long scraggy wig as he swaggered around the wards in his scruffy white shirt, black waistcoast, breeches and heavy leather boots.”
Since his daughter Lily Rose Depp, was sick and spent time at the same hospital, Johnny has regularly made efforts to support and donate time and money to the care of sick children. He spoke last year while on The Graham Norton Show about the experience of being by his daughter’s side during her severe illness.
“‘When my daughter was ill in Great Ormond Street, it was the darkest period of my life. I’d always done these visits but after that experience the visits became more and more important. The kids are so courageous but to be able to bring a smile or a giggle to the parents means everything in the world to me.”
Johnny Depp is set to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow in the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise – Dead Men Tell No Tales – which is due out on May 26, 2017. Although the films have been very successful for the star, and the film is likely to be just as enjoyable, critics wonder as to whether there will be a dip in box office sales in comparison to the other installments due to the abuse allegations against Depp.
Amber Heard, as noted, was recently a part of a PSA in which she shared her experience on the subject of domestic abuse.
