Chris Brown Documentary Update: ‘Attack The Block’ Singer Issues ‘Movie Alert’ For ‘Welcome To My Life’ Doc
Chris Brown has been teasing the arrival of his controversial Welcome to My Life documentary since April, and now it appears that Breezy is gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated project after dropping a hint about the status of the film via Instagram on Friday.
The “Kriss Kross” singer took to the social media site to give fans a much-needed update on the status of his Welcome to My Life documentary before revealing that the film may be arriving sooner than fans had previously anticipated.
“@rivetingentertainment @andrew_listermann team breezy I know y’all waiting!” Chris Brown began in the caption of his Instagram post alongside a video snippet of the Welcome to My Life trailer. “Coming sooner thank you think! *heart emoji* *kissing emoji* MOVIE ALERT!!!”
While a firm release date for the impending project has yet to be confirmed by either Brown or production company Riveting Entertainment, who has previously worked with Breezy on music videos such as “Grass Ain’t Greener,” “Turn Up the Music,” and “Look at Me Now,” the firm did take to its own personal Instagram account to drop a similar hint about a new upcoming project with Brown in the near future.
“Late night edit sessions. New *film camera emoji* *fire emoji* coming soon Breezy #RivetingEnt,” Riveting Entertainment wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Chris Brown and WTML executive producer Andrew Listermann.
The news comes just three months after Riveting Entertainment confirmed rumors suggesting that they were in the final stages of editing Brown’s impending film, revealing via Instagram in September that release information concerning the documentary would be made available in the near future.

Similarly, after it was revealed that Chris Brown is currently in the process of working on his eighth studio album, tentatively titled Lost & Found (Heartbreak on a Full Moon), fans began taking to Twitter to express their concerns over having not received any additional information regarding the documentary’s arrival since the release of the film’s trailer back in August.
“Release info coming VERY SOON!!! Thanks for everyone’s patience and support. This is a movie and it takes planning!” Riveting Entertainment wrote via Twitter in September in response to an overwhelming number of fan-related inquiries concerning release information for the documentary.
According to Riveting Entertainment’s official website for the Chris Brown documentary, Welcome to My Life aims to give fans a glimpse into Breezy’s “passion for making music, his tumultuous and much-publicized relationships, and the pitfalls of coming of age in the public eye” through “new interviews” with Brown as well as several star-studded cameos from the likes of Usher, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, and Jamie Foxx.
While fans may be eager to get their hands on the emotionally charged film, Brown’s decision to address the topic of his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna in the documentary has garnered backlash from several media outlets as well as fans on social media.
In one post shared by a fan on Twitter, news outlets can be seen bashing Brown’s Welcome to My Life film announcement following the release of the movie’s trailer earlier this year, with one outlet boasting the headline, “Chris Brown opens up about beating Rihanna in 2009 in new documentary that no one asked for,” while another adds, “There’s going to be a new Chris Brown documentary where he expects us to feel sorry for him.”

Despite the criticism, fans have maintained their excitement regarding the impending release of Chris Brown’s latest project and continue to speculate on a tentative release date for the documentary on social media.
Similarly, while Chris Brown has yet to drop any additional hints regarding the details of the documentary, Riveting Entertainment continues to ask fans to submit their information on the film’s official website in order to receive up-to-date information concerning the arrival of the project. In addition, while it’s unclear which medium the film will arrive in upon its release, previous reports suggested that Brown may have lost a lucrative exclusivity deal with Apple Music to release the film via its streaming platform, although those reports were never confirmed by either Brown or his team.
