Remember The Hiddleswift Independence Day Photo? Ryan Reynolds Finally Answered If He Was Annoyed To Be A ‘Prop’
Ryan Reynolds finally addressed the speculations on whyStyle he was frowning in that iconic Fourth of July photo with the now gone Hiddleswift. This year, Ryan and wife Blake Lively spent the nation’s birthday at the house of the “Style” songstress. Three couples were in the photo, including Ryan and Blake, Taylor and then-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston, and their friends. While everyone in the photo all flashed cheesy smiles, Ryan looked rather glum.
His reaction generated hilarious memes. Some speculated that Ryan was annoyed because it’s not his and Blake’s thing to have “posed” photographs. After all, Ryan and Blake opted to get married without fanfare. Photos of their nuptials weren’t even released.

Entertainment Weekly, which recently named Ryan as its Entertainer of the Year, finally asked the Green Lantern actor. His response is a testament of why he deserved the title.
“No that’s a problem I’ve had all my life. If I’m not aware a photo is being taken, my natural resting face is one of a man dying. I had no idea somebody was taking a photo. Therefore I was resting comfortably in my persona of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth.”
Previous rumors have emerged that Ryan and Taylor do not get along well. The actor allegedly feels irritated when Blake’s younger girlfriends visit them as per a Hollywood Gossip report. “When Blake has her girls over, Ryan usually doesn’t stick around. He’s even commented that they sound like a pack of chirping birds,” said the so-called insider.
However, such rumors appear to be inaccurate. For this year’s Halloween, Ryan even allowed Taylor to wear his Deadpool costume. When Blake saw Taylor’s photo as Deadpool, she commented about having a “husband upgrade.”
The Deadpool actor likewise told the publication that he would like to collaborate with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine even if Ryan’s character has a penchant for saying unpleasant things to him. The father-of-two said that should Hugh decide to wear his claws again, it would be great to have a movie with the two anti-heroes in them.
“I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”
He went on to praise Hugh by saying one of the reasons he would like to have the movie is because he “genuinely love[s] the guy.”
Blake and Ryan just welcomed their second baby and like with the case of their eldest James, they aren’t ready yet to reveal details about her. While having two girls means there’s twice the work, Ryan is not complaining. He told eTalk’s Ben Mulroney via ABC News that even if the tantrums and diaper duties were doubled, these are nothing because the feeling is “twice as rewarding.”
Ryan is proud of how their eldest James is now showing eagerness to take care of her younger sister. He said it’s been “profound to see” James playing the role of a big sister. Ryan joked that it’s actually his plot to “just wipe men off the face of the planet.”
His Deadpool character might appear powerful but at home, Ryan just can’t say “no” to his girls’ wishes. He admitted that despite setting boundaries for James, he still finds himself giving in to his eldest daughter’s charm. When Ryan “accidentally” revealed the gender of their second baby by saying their house is like “American Girl” relived, he made up to Blake by gifting her with her favorite pastries.
Ryan said that they weren’t keeping their second child’s gender a secret – they just did not announce it. Despite this, he did not skip on the opportunity to delight his wife with a small yet heartfelt gesture.
