WWE News: Randy Orton Says Brock Lesnar ‘SummerSlam’ Match Pissed Him Off
When Randy Orton fought Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam this year, many WWE fans felt that someone might actually challenge Lesnar to a strong match. What happened was that Brock Lesnar beat Randy Orton into a bloody mess and Orton lost by referee decision. Randy Orton then missed the next three weeks with legitimate concussion issues. In an interview with USA Today, Randy Orton said that pissed him off.
Randy Orton said that there were a number of things the WWE could have done to make the match better for both himself and Brock Lesnar. He said that Brock Lesnar comes in a few months every year and then destroys someone who works over 200 days a year. However, that didn’t really piss him off too much in the end.
While Randy Orton said that the match could have been built to help him look better in his WWE career, he said the fact that people are still asking him about it means they created buzz, which is important. However, what bothered Randy Orton and pissed him off so much was that Brock Lesnar legitimately concussed him.
“The fact that I had a concussion and was out for three weeks and wasn’t able to do anything pissed me off. We say this a lot in the back when someone gets hit harder than intended, we knew what we were signing up for. It’s a rough sport. It’s a rough business and very physical. A few more people need to respect how things can go sour out there.”
What might make things even worse for Randy Orton is that the WWE paid off that intense beating by having Brock Lesnar lose his next match in less than two minutes to Bill Goldberg. When Orton mentions that Brock Lesnar beats guys who work 200 days a year easily, it has to mean something when a guy who hasn’t worked in a decade is the one who finally beats him.

Of course, things have worked out well for Randy Orton. He is someone who can take losses like that in the WWE and not lose too much in the process. He is a 12-time world champion in the WWE and will be a member of the WWE Hall of Fame when he retires.
Randy Orton followed up his WWE match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam by feuding with Bray Wyatt. That feud wasn’t very good and looked to hurt both wrestlers no matter who won, but the WWE seemed to luck out when they teamed them instead of finishing the feud.

Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt just won the SmackDown Live tag team titles and the Wyatt Family is almost stronger than ever with Bray Wyatt holding his very first WWE title and Luke Harper really connecting in the entire storyline. It also gives Randy Orton a title and a chance to rebuild his credibility after the Brock Lesnar loss.

This is arguably the most entertaining Randy Orton has been since he was with The Authority. It even looks like The Wyatt Family will steal a page from the New Day since Wrestle Zone reported that they will use the Freebird Rule and any two members of the team can defend the titles. This will also help since there are rumors that the new Randy Orton WWE contract doesn’t require him to work house shows anymore.
