Shanina Shaik M.I.A. From 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Throws Shade On Instagram?

Shanina Shaik missed this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The model reportedly shared a cryptic message on social media that has fans wondering if she threw shade at the runway show and the other models.

The 26-year-old model took to Instagram to share a photo of a neon sign that read, “You are exactly where you need to be.”

Shaik further reinstated the message by writing the word “exactly” in the caption, according to Yahoo Australia. Check out Shaik’s post below.

Shanina Shaik reportedly auditioned for the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She was even seen leaving the lingerie brand’s New York-based headquarters back in October. Unfortunately, Shaik missed out on the opportunity due to this year’s star-studded line, which includes fellow Australian models Bridget Malcolm and Kelly Gale making the cut. In addition, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid walked down the runway for the second consecutive time and Bella Hadid made the cut and made her debut on Wednesday, November 30.

Shanina previously walked for the annual runway show in the years of 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015. Although she didn’t return to the runway herself, Shanina did congratulate fellow model and best friend Jasmine Tookes when it was announced that she would be wearing the “Fantasy Bra” this year.

However, Shanina’s mom, Kim, posted a cryptic message of her own around the time, stating on Snapchat that her daughter shouldn’t be upset and that she looks forward to upcoming opportunities.

“@shaninashaik never allow one door closed to discourage you to step outside and seek other opportunities,” she wrote. “Never allow people to make you feel less cause you’re far from less, you’re amazing! I’m forever proud of the person you are and how fare you’ve come….I’m always right beside you to guide you and support you, to achieve what ever [sic] goals you wish to pursue #alwaysgotyourback #alwaysawinnerinmyeyes.”

This comes after Shanina Shaik’s recent Snapchat photo. The former Victoria’s Secret model didn’t let her disappointment show when she visited the Art Basel fair in Miami, according to the Daily Mail. Shaik was glowing in her latest Snapchat photo, which featured cat ears and whiskers. She captioned the photo, “Ready for another night.” In the photo, Shaik was seen wearing a black choker, a black T-shirt, and a colorful leopard print coat.

Fans expressed their dismay over why Shanina wasn’t picked for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, especially since she has walked for them in the past.

“It’s so confusing to me why you didn’t get the VS show this year,” one fan wrote. “You are the ultimate VS model, they made a huge mistake.”

“Still can’t believe you didn’t make it to the vsfs this year, you are surely one of my favorites!” another fan commented.

Shaik proved that she’s still got it. She showed off her incredible bikini bod while the rest of the Victoria’s Secret Angels were filming in Paris on Wednesday. In a throwback photo shared to Shaik’s Instagram account, the model is seen rocking a crochet bikini as she puts her abs and cleavage on display during a recent trip to the Bahamas, according to a previous report via the Daily Mail.

The model decided to go make-up free for the photo and only donned a black choker to accessorize her beach look. In the caption, Shanina playfully wrote, “Shanina sells seashells by the seashore.”

The phot comes shortly after she was spotted partying with her model friends on the Caribbean island before flying to the U.S. to attend the Angel Ball in New York leading up to Thanksgiving last week. During her time on the island, Shaik shared a series of photos of her wearing a white one-piece swimsuit and a yellow floral print floor-length dress.
