Jessica Simpson Weight Loss: Singer Drops 60 Pounds In Six Months
Jessica Simpson took on the challenge of making her post-pregnancy weight loss a public affair, and it appears to be paying off for the singer.
After gaining 70 pounds during her pregnancy with daughter Maxwell Drew, Jessica Simpson signed an endorsement deal with Weight Watchers and decided to make her post-baby weight loss known to everyone, The Huffington Post noted.
It has paid off for Simpson. Us Weekly notes that she’s dropped 60 pounds in the six months since she gave birth, leaving her with just 10 pounds to go to meet her goal.
Jessica Simpson pulled off the weight loss without anything too special, said her trainer Harley Pasternak.
“In over 20 years, I’ve never seen as consistent of a weight loss. Jessica’s right where she needs to be … She’s gotten so much stronger,” Pasternak told Us Weekly.
It may have been steady, but the weight loss wasn’t always easy for Jessica Simpson. Speaking to USA Today in September, Simpson said that the struggle to take off the baby weight was a lot harder than she anticipated.
“I didn’t realize it [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby,” Jessica Simpson said. “I’m not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”
For those who think Jessica Simpson’s weight loss feat is incredible, remember that there’s another incentive. Her endorsement deal with Weight Watchers gave her three million reasons to meet her weight loss goal.
