Selena Gomez Spotted In L.A. Post Rehab, Returns To Instagram To Thank Her Fans

Selena Gomez is finally back following a lengthy stay in rehab. After being spotted in Los Angeles on Monday, Teen Vogue reports that Gomez shared her first Instagram pic in three months and fans couldn’t be happier.

“My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding,” she wrote on social media.

Gomez’s post sent fans into a frenzy of support with many celebrities adding their voice to the mix. From Lily Aldridge to Bella Hadid, everyone seemed to like or comment on her new post.

“I see you[r] light, I see your pure heart. I will always send positive energy. You deserve the best. You got my support,” Adriana Lima replied.

Weeks before the post, Gomez set a record with 100 million followers on social media after fans launched the hashtag, “#SelenaBreakTheInternet. Once Gomez was near the record-setting mark, fans made a push that sent her into elite territory.

“I have a lot to be thankful for this year,” Gomez shared in her newest post. “I’ve finally fought the fight of not ‘being enough’. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless.”

According to Mirror, Gomez was also spotted making her way through LAX this week. The singer wore a light sweater and leather pants for the outing and completed the look with a pair of dark shades.

Daily Mail reports that Gomez stopped for a quick selfie with a fan while making her way home. Overall, the singer appeared in high spirits and more than willing to be back in the spotlight.

Selena Gomez’s social media activity follows her emotional speech at the American Music Awards. During the event, Gomez told fans that she was “completely broken inside” as a result of constantly trying to please everyone but herself.

“In 2014, this stage was actually the first time that I was authentically 100% honest with all of you, I think it’s safe to say, for most of my life, whether I liked it or not, and I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside and I kept it all together and that’s why I will never let you down,” she explained.

“But I kept it too much together where I let myself down. I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram, I want to see what’s in here. I’m not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore,” she added. “If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken, and if that’s anything because whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me, is that I care about people.”

Gomez canceled her world tour last summer to deal with depression and anxiety. She entered rehab a few months later and has been out of the public eye ever since.

While Gomez is back in the limelight, she isn’t quite ready to dive back into her career. According to Hollywood Life, the singer is being selective with what she wants to do next and wants to surround herself with positive friends.

“Selena is ready to get back to work but she’s being extremely cautious with every move she makes these days,” an insider shared. “She’s done a tremendous amount of work on herself and has gotten to a really great place. She only wants to do things that take her forward in a positive direction. She wants to do more films but is determined to only surround herself with good people.”

This apparently doesn’t include Taylor Swift. Hollywood Life reports that Gomez declined Swift’s invitation to Thanksgiving. Instead, the singer opted to spend time with her family over the holiday.
