Reese Witherspoon In Talks For Michael Bublé Duet [Report]
Actress Reese Witherspoon is in talks to record a duet with Michael Bublé.
According to Us Weekly, Witherspoon is considering a collaboration with Canadian singer Bublé, though no other details about the project have been confirmed thus far. Though Witherspoon is best known for her Academy Award-winning acting chops, she is also a talented singer, proven by her musical turn as June Carter Cash in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line.
The actress told MTV in 2004 that recording the soundtrack for Walk the Line was “the most challenging, horrifying experience of my life. Me singing in front of people while they’re listening to me is just horrifying. And it gets exponentially horrifying when extras show up and have to watch you perform.”
But she did well, earning an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role as well as near-universal critical praise.
“They literally had to push me to get me up there on the stage and say, ‘You have to do this. It is time. We are all waiting for you.’ I thought I was going to throw up the whole first day. It was awful,” Witherspoon recalled.
Witherspoon, who recently gave birth to son Tennessee James, has two other children: 13-year-old Ava and 8-year-old Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Philippe. She humorously admitted that her children don’t think that she’s a very good singer.
“They sent me a CD of songs [from Walk the Line] … and Deacon put his fingers in his ears and said, ‘I hate this song! Turn it off!’ It was me singing!” she laughed.
Stay tuned for more intel on Reese Witherspoon’s collaboration with Michael Bublé. Be it a holiday-themed song or something new entirely, it certainly has us curious.
