Kanye West Breakdown: Kim Kardashian’s Kids Haven’t Seen Father Since His Hospitalization
In the wake of his hospitalization, Kim Kardashian is spending as much time as she possibly can with husband, Kanye West.
But that doesn’t mean the Kardashian-West’s are all one big happy family. In fact, quite the opposite. Amid rumors that Kanye’s breakdown goes far deeper than sleep deprivation and dehydration, Kim K has opted to keep her children from seeing their father at the hospital, an unnamed source for People magazine is reporting.
“The kids have not visited. Kim has been there. She is very worried about the kids being around Kanye.”
According to the People magazine report, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA, where Kanye is being treated, does allow children to visit as long as the patient gives permission and an adult is present. Still, Kim has chosen not to take her children with Kanye — 3-year-old North and 11-month-old Saint — to visit their father.
The insider for People said that it’s common for Kanye to have ups and downs where his mental health is concerned, but added that his current struggle is more serious than normal. Reports have indicated that the 39-year-old rapper is struggling with constant paranoia. The source added that during his hospital stay Kanye “has been very paranoid and is under constant watch for his safety.”

West was admitted to the UCLA Medical Center on November 21 after his doctor called the police and had the fashion designer placed under a 5150 hold, pending a psychiatric evaluation. The news of the rapper’s hospitalization came after West announced that he had canceled the remaining stops on his Saint Pablo tour.
West has remained hospitalized ever since, spending the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the medical center.
Since his breakdown, speculation about the cause of ‘Ye’s struggles has run rampant across the internet. Some celebrity news outlets have speculated that the anniversary of the death of Kanye’s mother sent him into a tailspin, while other sources speculate that Yeezy has been working himself too much to keep up with his music and fashion.

Still other outlets believe that the October robbery of his wife, Kim Kardashian, put a large strain on West. During Paris Fashion Week, masked robbers broke into Kim K’s Paris apartment and held her at gunpoint while they searched for her jewelry. Sources reported that Kardashian believed she would be assaulted or killed during the incident, and while she escaped the event without physical harm, the 37-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took some time to recover after the incident — out of the spotlight.
If a report from Entertainment Tonight is to be believed, the robbery had a lasting effect on Kanye, as well. An unnamed source for ET reported that “the Paris incident unsettled everyone, [but it] unsettled him the most.”
“He had severe paranoia. It was over nothing that was tangible or real He was thinking that people were out to kill him, out to break him and Kim up. It was Kanye vs. the whole world.”
Despite the speculation and rumors, no one is certain why Kanye’s breakdown occurred. Reports indicate that the rapper’s doctors still have not diagnosed West — or, at least, his diagnosis has not been made public.
And according to the source for People, Kanye’s condition is not quickly improving.
“Kim says that not much has changed since he was admitted and that his doctors seem concerned. He’s still there because clearly he’s not doing well.”
