Kendall Jenner And Gigi Hadid Have Staying Power In The Business, Says Naomi Campbell, “I Think They’re Great”
Naomi Campbell doesn’t believe Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are the supermodels of the moment. She doesn’t seem to agree with Stephanie Seymour’s controversial remarks about the social media darlings and reality stars being the “b****es of the moment.” She believes that Kendall and Gigi have staying power in the business.
Many models have been very critical of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, both of whom have achieved massive success in the modeling industry. The British supermodel revealed her true feelings about models like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid who have achieved that success due to their famous families and massive social media followings.
Naomi Campbell spoke about their success in an interview with Remix Magazine, and she praised the girls for their incredible careers.
“I think they’re great. I know all of these young girls, Instagram girls,” she said. “And they’re all really respectful and sweet.”
Campbell even admitted that she was the one who helped Kendall and Gigi perfect their signature walks.
“If I can ever help them, it’s a pleasure for me to do that. I’ve helped a few of them with their walks.”
Campbell understands that the fashion industry is changing. The industry is looking to social media to scout out the next “It” girl and supermodel. Campbell also pointed out that she believes models like Jenner and Hadid will go on to have long careers in an industry where one’s modeling career is often cut short at the age of 28.
“I think it is a change in the industry. It seems to be that there are so many more models now and it is so much more competitive. It just seems to be that they come in and out much faster. There is a group of girls, I think, that have staying power. I never thought I’d be doing it this long either.”
This goes against Stephanie Seymour’s comments in her interview with Vanity Fair in June. According to Us Weekly, Campbell’s fellow supermodel slammed the girls when she said they weren’t supermodels.
“They are completely different than we were. Supermodels are sort of the thing of the past. They deserve their own title,” she said.
“[Kendall and Gigi] are beautiful girls, and I support all of them, but they need their own title. B****** of the moment! That would be a good title for them,” she added as she laughed.
Seymour has posed alongside Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss. Meanwhile, Campbell is part of the “big six” supermodels, which included the likes of Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, Crawford, and Moss.
Kendall Jenner took to her app and website to fire back at Seymour’s comments. She defended herself and fought back at the criticism about their modeling careers.
“Gigi sent me the most recent rant and I’m disappointed. If you’re going to tell us not to be in ‘your moment,’ then don’t be in mine! This moment is all about being supportive—NOT cyberbullying. But, if you choose to be a cyberbully, I’m going to stick up for myself,” she wrote.
“No one is trying to steal Stephanie Seymour’s thing, or trying to be her. I actually looked up to her. She has a daughter! I guarantee you that she didn’t imagine someone so publicly shaming her daughter when she made those comments about us being ‘b****** of the moment.'”
Kendall also received support from her BFF Gigi Hadid, who commented about her blog post on Twitter.

Both Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have argued that their hard work and ethic got them to where they are today. It wasn’t due to their last names, good looks, selfies, or social media followers.
