Kim Kardashian Stops ‘KUWTK’ Filming After Kanye West’s Hospitalization, May Quit Reality TV [Report]
Kim Kardashian is allegedly “rethinking everything” in the wake of husband Kanye West’s hospitalization and her October 2 robbery in Paris, France, and that means temporarily shutting down production on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and potentially quitting the show for good.
That’s according to TMZ, who reported that Kim and her famous family have stopped filming for Keeping Up With the Kardashians for the second time this year after Kanye was hospitalized after what BBC News reported was a “disturbance call” that turned into a “medical incident.” The famous family allegedly has no plans to continue filming for the E! show until 2017.
According to an insider who spoke out to the site about the second Keeping Up With the Kardashians hold up following Kim’s robbery in October, cameras were originally scheduled to film the Kardashian family’s Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, but have now halted filming once again in the wake of West’s hospitalization.
The source alleged to TMZ that “producers have enough footage for the series commitment,” which means upcoming episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians likely won’t face a delay, but added that “the plan was to film through the holidays, and that won’t happen.”
As for why filming for the E! reality series has stopped again, the insider alleged that Kanye’s hospitalization is the main reason for Kim’s decision to halt production for the second time since October, but noted that Kardashian hasn’t exactly been sure about returning to the front of the camera ever since she was robbed of a reported $10 million worth of jewelry as rumors swirl that she’s allegedly been considering quitting the show.
“Kanye’s hospitalization has temporarily shut down production,” TMZ reported of Keeping Up With the Kardashians latest hiatus, “but Kim has been in such bad shape since the robbery that there was no real hope of shooting anything through December.”
The Kardashian source then went on to add to the site that Kim is now once again “rethinking everything” after the latest family drama that saw West rushed to the hospital, which could suggest Kim may now be considering quitting the series, which has aired on E! since 2007, for good.
Rumors swirled before Entertainment Tonight reported earlier this month that Kim had returned to filming for the reality show that Kardashian was actually considering quitting the show altogether following her robbery, claiming that Kim was so shaken up that she was unsure if she wanted to continue leading such a public life.
Closer magazine reported in the days that followed Kim Kardashian’s scary Paris robbery that she was “reassessing everything” when it comes to how she lives her very public life, hinting that Kim was on the verge of quitting the series as a result of her attack.
“Kim’s feeling understandably emotional at the moment,” a source said of Kardashian’s mental state at the time, adding that Kim was allegedly “unsure whether she wants to do the show” and considering quitting the series because she still felt “so shaken and vulnerable” after the robbery.
“[Kim’s] reassessing everything at the moment,” continued the source amid the quitting claims, alleging last month that Kardashian was “not sure she wants to open up her personal life to the world anymore.”
It was also alleged at the time that Kanye was also urging Kardashian to quit reality TV in the wake of her robbery, as a source claimed that West reportedly told his wife prior to his hospitalization that he thought having the cameras around their family at all times was too dangerous after her attack.
“Kanye told Kim and her family that he thinks she is done with reality TV,” a Kardashian insider alleged to Radar Online in October, revealing that West had allegedly been telling the Kardashian family that “he does not want his wife and the mother of his kids killed because of her family’s reality show.”
“Kim definitely doesn’t need the money anymore,” continued the site’s source as the quitting rumors swirled around Kardashian, “and Kanye told her that ‘there is not one good reason’ why she should continue doing this show.”
The latest Keeping Up With the Kardashians quitting claims also come just days after sources reported that Kanye and mother-in-law Kris Jenner were allegedly locked in a nasty feud over what they felt was best for Kim following the robbery, as West allegedly made it very clear to Jenner that he did not want Kardashian to return to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
