‘RHOC’ Star Kelly Dodd Stands By Her Bad Behavior, Campaigning With Vicki Gunvalson To Get Tamra Judge Fired
When it comes to stirring up drama on the Real Housewives of Orange County, Kelly Dodd has zero regrets. She may have called out Shannon Beador for being a “c**t” and dug up hurtful family drama for Tamra Judge, but that doesn’t mean Dodd is going to apologize anytime soon.
Quite the opposite. According to People, the newcomer stood behind her actions this season and isn’t afraid to let everyone know how she feels. During the final reunion special, Dodd told host Andy Cohen, “There’s no shame in my game.”
Why the sudden change of opinion?
Dodd has steadily apologized for her harsh words all season long. She even tried to convince her co-stars that her actions, which were often a result of heavy drinking, were not a reflection of her true personality.
The reality star is also sick of constantly apologizing for everything she does wrong because she doesn’t believe apologies do any good on the show. If anything, Dodd regrets not standing up for herself sooner.
“An apology doesn’t matter with these women,” she explained. “I do [stand behind it]. At the time I didn’t, now I do. I’m mad. I [see] it differently now. I didn’t think I was right at the time, but now I do.”
Dodd had particularly rough outings with her co-stars during the sushi dinner and the cast trip to Ireland. Although Dodd typically lashes out after a few drinks, she is adamant that alcohol is not the source of her problems.
“I hit him to not get in a fight,” Dodd said concerning an incident during the Fourth of July. “And someone’s gonna go to jail, and I’m the one that got in trouble. In order to get it dismissed, I had to go to AA classes. But I don’t have a [drinking] problem.”
While alcohol seems to fuel Dodd’s outbursts, she claims that her co-stars are the real ones to blame for her actions. “I was pushed,” she admitted. “If I was in anger management, I would have beat the crap out of Tamra. If I was really mad. I didn’t go after her. I restrained myself.”
There are few RHOC cast members that Dodd hasn’t feuded with this season. According to Us Magazine, her alliance with Vicki Gunvalson might lead to Judge getting fired from the show. Dodd stood by and defended Gunvalson on numerous occasions this past season, and it now sounds like the two are trying their best to oust Judge.
Gunvalson was accused of spreading multiple rumors about Judge’s husband, Eddie. The show’s only remaining original cast member told Dodd that Eddie cheats on Judge on a regular basis and that he is actually gay.
Despite their plans to get Judge off the show, producers might decide to keep her because of all the drama she brings to the table. “The more Housewives dislike someone, the more producers want to keep them,” a source explained.
At the same time, Judge is apparently considering making amends with Gunvalson. Although communication between the women has broken down, a close friend said Judge “won’t rule out reconciling with Vicki. It breaks Tamra’s heart, but she doesn’t hate Vicki.”
Reality Tea reports that Gunvalson also apologized to Kelly Dodd during the reunion for dragging her into the drama. Although Meghan Edmonds criticized Gunvalson for not sincerely apologizing, it was good to see Gunvalson admit she was wrong for a change.
Meanwhile, Reality Tea reports that host Andy Cohen slammed Dodd throughout the reunion for the way she acted this year. Cohen usually remains somewhat neutral on the show, but this time he went after the RHOC newcomer and admitted he might have been too hard on her.
“I was really tough on Kelly Dodd,” Cohen revealed. “I don’t know how much they’ll show of my part, but I felt like I was pretty tough on her. I was calling her out.”
According to 2 Paragraphs, Cohen wasn’t the only one mad at Dodd’s behavior at the reunion. After Dodd admitted that had no regrets, Heather Dubrow shared a few stern words with her co-star.
“It’s statements like that that make you unlikeable,” she told Dodd, who replied by saying, “I think the whole world likes me.”
Cohen also teased that two of the women left the reunion as bitter enemies. Was he referring to Gunvalson and Judge?
“There were revelations … and at the end there was me feeling like, ‘Wow – they’ll never be friends again …'” he stated.
Dodd certainly has a lot of things to work out before the new season rolls around. For now, she can rest assured knowing that Gunvalson has her back, at least for the time being.
Bravo has yet to make any casting announcements for the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of Orange County. Judge has not commented about her future on the hit show.
