Donald Trump’s big bombshell announcement unveiled yesterday after days of teasing “something huge” was briefly mocked by President Barack Obama on last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Donald Trump’s announcement turned out to be no revelation at all but yet another recitation of the tired old “you’re not really from America” race stuff being shilled by Republicans like Trump for the past four years.
Trump’s sad bid for relevance and publicity did not go unnoticed by the President, who had a good sense of humor about the silly Trump hoax when appearing on Leno’s show last night.
As the pair chatted, Leno asked the President what the deal was with Trump’s obsession with nailing the President on something, anything throughout the course of his presidency.
And Obama was on point, denying Trump the validation he so desperately seeks by clinging to the President’s coattails. Instead, the President joked:
“This all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya. We had constant run-ins on the soccer field… He wasn’t very good and resented it… When we finally moved to America I thought it would be over.”
Perhaps even funnier, and sadder for Donald Trump, is when Leno asks the President if he’s met his most high-profile accuser over the course of all these accusations. Laughing still, Obama admits that no, despite the many publicity stunts Trump has engineered trying to rope Obama into acknowledging him, he “actually hasn’t met” the reality TV business man.
