Kate Middleton Remains Unfazed Despite Issues Because Of Mom Carole
Kate Middleton knows that being a member of the royal family isn’t always glamorous because of the issues thrown at her, but thankfully, she has a pillar other than her husband. An insider recently told People that Prince William’s wife, still referred to as “Kate,” even after their marriage, gets her strength from mother Carole.
“I don’t think anything fazes [Kate] — she just takes everything in her stride. A lot of this comes from her mum. Carole’s lovely, and she just doesn’t let anything faze her.”
The royal family makes it a point to visit the Bucklebury home of Kate’s parents from time to time. It’s the place where Carole and Michael Middleton have resided for the past 36 years. The insider revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte “love to come and play” at their grandparents’ home.
Carole, who used to be a flight attendant before establishing the famous Party Pieces with her husband, has been Kate’s rock ever since she tied the knot with William. Another insider who resides in Bucklebury told the publication that Carole hasn’t changed, even after the Middleton family was catapulted into fame.
“Some locals think that Carole has changed since Kate joined the royal family, but to me she’s still the exact same person. She still goes to the pub with her girlfriends for a glass of wine and a gossip and is always really fun and approachable, relaxed and happy. She’s just as much fun as anybody else. She adores being a granny and always tells people, ‘I’m loving it.'”
It is inarguable that parenting is a tedious job, and in a recent speaking engagement in Vietnam, Prince William opened up about his experience. According to E!, while attending the International Conference on the Illegal Wildlife Trade, the father-of-two told news program Talk Vietnam that he’s “very lucky” to have his wife as they experience the “wonderful highs and wonderful lows” that come with parenting.
He praised Kate for being an “amazing mother and a fantastic wife,” especially because it was quite a struggle for him to transition from a single man to someone with a family.
“I adore my children very much and I’ve learned a lot about myself and about a family, just from having my own children and it’s amazing how much you pick up from just in those moments,” he added.
The prince said that raising Charlotte is something new for him because he never had a sister. George, he described, could be a bit mischievous, but added that “he’s a sweet boy.”
While Kate and William’s children have access to all the toys that they want, the new father aspires to give them an anti-materialistic lifestyle.
Royal writer Robert Lacey also told People that Carole has a pivotal role in ensuring that her grandchildren get to experience the ordinary life.
“In terms of a non-royal, young and trendy granny, there’s been no one like her at all,” he said.
Lacey said that Queen Elizabeth used to have a Scottish nanny who slept in her bedroom until her teenage years. That nanny showed her how to live an ordinary life. This time, Carole is doing the same for George and Charlotte.
William’s family reportedly appreciates that the Middletons have “no delusions of grandeur,” which might also explain the reason for the queen’s welcoming attitude towards them. Majesty’s editor-in-chief, Ingrid Seward, similarly revealed to the publication that the queen acknowledges the Middletons’ “big role in the lives of her family and she is happy with that.”
In September, Carole was photographed in the front seat of the queen’s Range Rover. It was a typical family day, but the queen went back to the castle with Carole accompanying her.
