Will Ferrell Featured In Swedish Old Milwaukee Beer Ad [Video]
Will Ferrell is featured in a recent ad for Old Milwaukee Beer, according to MSN. Although the television spot is only airing in Sweden, the power of the internet has allowed the clip to reach the comedian’s fans around the world.
Honestly, there isn’t much to the ad. Set to a dubstep tune, the 16-second clip features Ferrell dancing around with a can of beer while hanging out on a sidewalk. When he isn’t spraying the alcoholic beverage with reckless abandon, the Anchorman star is seen gyrating wildly for no particular reason. It’s an extremely peculiar clip, for sure, one that you’ll want to watch more than a dozen times in a row.
Of course, this certainly isn’t the first time a celebrity has endorsed a product in a foreign country. Not too long ago, The Expendables 2 co-star Jean-Claude Van Damme appeared in a number of amusing commercials for Coors Light UK. The clips feature the action hero hocking the beverage while standing in the middle of a snowy mountain range. Van Damme discusses a number of interesting subjects in the ads including frozen pants, sweaty bears, and talking nipples.
In 2008, Brad Pitt and director Wes Anderson teamed up for an entertaining Japanese mobile phone commercial. Modeled after the French film Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot, the clip showcases Pitt interacting with a number of characters in a small town. The 30-second spot was reportedly filmed in one continuous shot.
As MSN points out, celebrities often venture into foreign markets in order to make a quick buck. Such a scenario was chronicled in director Sofia Coppola’s 2003 drama Lost in Translation, a film which casts Bill Murray as an American actor who travels to Japan for a commercial shoot.
