‘The Walking Dead,’ Season 7, Episode 6 Preview: Get Ready For A New Community, Plus Tara And Heath Talk [Spoilers]
Already in Season 7 of AMC’s The Walking Dead viewers are dealing with four separate groups: Alexandria, Hilltop, the Kingdom and the Saviors. Now, according to the synopsis for Episode 6, viewers will get introduced to yet another new group.
Spoiler alert: This article discusses Season 7 of AMC’s The Walking Dead as well as the comic books the television series is based on. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.
The official synopsis for Episode 6 (entitled “Swear”) of The Walking Dead is below.
“A new community is discovered.”
While the synopsis is short and direct, it actually raises many questions among fans of The Walking Dead. Who is this new group? Will they be friendly? How will this new group affect the groups already established?
For fans of the Walking Dead comics, it is likely this answer has already been answered. There has been some suggestion that a group from the comics called the Whisperers are set to arrive in Season 7. This new group are known for wearing the skin of walkers over their bodies to hide among the undead. PopSugar explains it also gives the Whisperers the opportunity to “sneak up on other survivors or spy on them without getting noticed.”
The arrival of the Whisperers in Episode 6 of The Walking Dead‘s seventh season would mean a deviation from the comic timeline as this group wasn’t discovered in the comics until much later in the Negan storyline. However, this is really the only group in the comics from this approximate time frame that fits the description of a “new community.”
Although, according to MoviePilot, Episode 6 of The Walking Dead could introduce a community called Oceanside. This group has dealings with Alexandria, Hilltop and the Kingdom in the comics. The general concensus among fans is that the Whisperers will appear before Oceanside. Although, MoviePilot has reported that AMC asked permission to shoot some Season 7 scenes on Driftwood beach on Jekyll Island, Georgia, indicating they could appear first.
Along with the intriguing synopsis for Episode 6 of The Walking Dead, AMC have released a trailer specific to Episode 6 as well as a trailer for the weeks ahead.
The first trailer for Episode 6 of The Walking Dead reveals to viewers just what Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Heath (Corey Hawkins) have been up to since Season 6.
The pair have been on a supply run. It appears they have been gone two weeks already, which is how long their trip was supposed to take in total, and there is some indication they could be a fair distance away from Alexandria. Heath insists there is “nothing left out here,” but Tara must hold out hope they will find something — or someone. Perhaps this is how the new community will be discovered in Episode 6?
While Tara seems determined to continue looking for supplies, Heath discusses just how much participating in the murders of some of Negan’s people in Season 6 of The Walking Dead affected him.
The second trailer, while not specifically dealing with Episode 6, reveals more about what to expect in the coming weeks.
For example, Negan believes his group, the Saviors, has been tasked with bringing civilization back to the world.
The clip also shows Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) talking to a member of the Kingdom. The Kingdom character is saying that “they” can’t be trusted. It is unclear who he is talking about, but Morgan queries exactly what is being asked of them.
Rick and Aaron are also so desperate to find something to impress Negan, that they are seen jumping a fence with the sign, “Keep Going. Only Thing Here 4 You Is Trouble.” Once again, this could be another opportunity to introduce the new community from the synopsis.
Finally, the following two images have been released in regard to Episode 6 of The Walking Dead’s seventh season. The images are of Tara, and she appears fearful about something. These stills are likely in regard to the footage from the upcoming episodes of The Walking Dead that shows Tara hiding from someone.
