‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Leah Messer Announces Pregnancy
Teen Mom 2‘s Leah Messer is expecting her first child with husband Jeremy Calvert.
The 20-year-old reality TV star confirmed the news that she is expecting to Us Weekly. “Jeremy and I are excited to be adding a new addition to our family,” said Messer, whose legal last name is Calvert, the same as her 23-year-old husband. “Being a teen mom was difficult, but I’m older and in a different place now — married to Jeremy and excited for our family to grow.”
The Teen Mom 2 alum filed for divorce from her first husband, Corey Simms, in April of 2011. Simms is the father of Messer’s two-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah. Messer married Calvert one year later in Calettsburg, Kentucky.
“Ali and Aleeah can’t wait to meet their new brother or sister,” she adds. “We feel incredibly blessed and look forward to this next chapter in our lives.”
Zap2it reports that Messer previously suffered a miscarriage with Calvert, who was her fiancé at the time. The miscarriage will feature as one of the prominent story arcs on season 3 of Teen Mom 2.
Messer also made news recently with some controversial political comments on Twitter, notes WetPaint.

The controversial opinion wasn’t taken well by 16 and Pregnant’s Danielle Cunningham, who tweeted some nasties of her own at Messer. This caused Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans to jump into the fray to defend Messer:
“I agree with Leah actually in a way, but in another sense some people deserve it. I think they should be making the rules more strict and have parents show proof they can’t find a job and make strict rules such as that. It’s too easy for people to get welfare,” she wrote. “But Danielle Cunningham didn’t have to be so mean about this and call Leah out like that. It was very immature and uncalled for. Everyone has their opinions, but just because they don’t agree with you… they don’t automatically turn into your enemy.”
Congratulations to Leah Messer and husband Jeremy Calvert on their exciting news!
