‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: What Do The Remaining Seasons Hold For Jon Snow?
With only two seasons left for Game of Thrones, some major things remain to be resolved, and Jon Snow is involved in each of them. In fact, he is more than involved in them; he’s central to them. Some hints as to how it may all play out have leaked from the set, and the remaining episodes of GOT look to be quite exciting, possibly the most exciting yet.
One of the major events that Game of Thrones expect to see before all is said and done is a war with the White Walkers. Although the war itself may not happen in Season 7, it looks as though next season will include lots of events that lay the groundwork for the war. Actually, the laying of that groundwork began in Season 6 when Bran had visions of the army of White Walkers and Jon Snow killed one. As recently as a few days ago, fan site Watchers on the Wall reported that work has begun to create a huge snowy set at Wolf Hill Quarry, which is set in the hills above Belfast. They published multiple photos that include massive green screens and lots of heavy equipment on the Game of Thrones set as well as large amounts of fake snow and a surface made of artificial ice. The significance? It likely indicates that shooting is about to begin for something related to the White Walkers.

Such icy conditions probably point to Season 7 of Game of Thrones taking us beyond The Wall. And that could mean that Jon Snow or someone else will encounter the White Walkers very soon. Adding to this possibility is another piece of information uncovered by WOTW. A casting call has gone out for 300 extras for what sound like wights. Add to this the fact that the filming for this scene is scheduled to take three weeks, and the excitement and anticipation level for seeing Jon Snow and the White Walkers meet face to face skyrockets. This will apparently be a rather lengthy segment given the extended schedule for filming. Will it rival the Battle of the Bastards? We’ll see.
One thing has been pretty much confirmed about Jon Snow in Season 7 of Game of Thrones, and that is that he and Daenerys Targaryen will finally meet. At the end of Season 6, Dany and others were on a ship that had set sail for Westeros. Khaleesi wants the Iron Throne, which means she will have to deal with Cersei, but it also seems she will have to deal with Jon. It’s a meeting fans have been hoping for a long time. It’s believed that this epic Game of Thrones meeting will happen when Snow goes to Dany to try to get her support in fighting the White Walkers. Of course, the meeting of the two has other implications.
Jon Snow doesn’t know yet what Game of Thrones fans finally learned last season, the identity of his real parents. He doesn’t know yet that he’s part Targaryen. How, or even if, he finds that out in Season 7 is also a big question. But this little fact means that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are related. What if they have fallen in love before they find this out? It may not matter in the world of Game of Thrones. They wouldn’t be the first couple who shares family blood. But what would it mean for the Iron Throne if they do fall in love? Or if they don’t, will one of them kill the other in their quest for the throne? Oh, the possibilities.
Seasons 7 and 8 of Game of Thrones have a lot of ground to cover, and, it seems, at least one massive, epic battle to bring to our screens. Fans everywhere eagerly await its return to HBO sometime in the Summer of 2017.
