Kelly Ripa Co-Host: Jerry O’Connell, Andy Cohen, Or Richard Curtis?
Is Kelly Ripa’s co-host quest winding down?
While the Live with Kelly host works through Thanksgiving week with another bevy of beloved co-host guest stars, recent reports have whittled down Ripa’s shortlist of Live co-host contenders.
Who will take the reins as Kelly’s co-host for the long haul? Will it be admired actor Jerry O’Connell or fellow talk show host Andy Cohen? Even the recent “Live with Kelly and You” co-host contest winner, Pennsylvania school teacher Richard Curtis, apparently has a legitimate shot at Ripa’s co-host spot.
As reported by People, favored Kelly Ripa co-host Jerry O’Connell had some interesting things to say about Kelly’s ongoing co-host search. While O’Connell admits he’d do “whatever Kelly wanted me to do” — even appearing on Live “a couple of days a week” — he also claims that Andy Cohen is his No. 1 pick as Ripa’s co-host.
“I don’t know how you top Andy Cohen. I got a lot of competition.”

This week, Ripa welcomes Cohen back to the show for yet another stint as her co-host. Andy will appear on Live with Kelly on Friday, Nov. 25. Media visionary Tyler Perry will co-host with Kelly on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, Nov. 24. Singer Joe Jonas joins Ripa on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and New Girl and Modern Men actor Max Greenfield will do double duty as Kelly Ripa’s co host on both Monday, Nov. 21, and Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Will Ripa have Jerry O’Connell rejoin her on an upcoming Live broadcast prior to making her final co-host pick? Only time will tell. For his part, as Jerry told People magazine in the aforementioned article, it’s actually Mr. Cohen who has the right stuff for making a prime Live with Kelly co-host.
“My vote is with Andy Cohen. I saw him on there and I thought he was really good. His parents came, he told funny stories, he’s an author.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Fox News figurehead and political commentator Megyn Kelly made a dent in Ripa’s ratings when her post-Election Day appearance on Live with Kelly gave the show its highest viewer share since former co-host Michael Strahan left Live back in May. Did you watch Megyn on Ripa’s show?
Widely covered in the press, bygone Live co-host Strahan ditched Ripa for Good Morning America. His last show with Kelly was on May 13. Since that time, Ripa has filled the vacant spot with numerous guest co-hosts, including her husband, actor Mark Consuelos. The seemingly non-stop cavalcade of guest hosts is now stretching into its sixth month; is there an end in sight for a permanent Kelly Ripa co-host?

In a recent report from The Wrap, the entertainment news website stated that Live has had “46 different guest co-hosts across 99 episodes since Michael Strahan bailed on Kelly Ripa.” According to the site, Ripa’s Live co-host guests with the highest syndicated ratings include late night host Jimmy Kimmel, actor Jussie Smollett, comedian Cedric the Entertainer, newsman David Muir, actor Daniel Dae Kim, and The Wonder Years star Fred Savage.
