Donald J. Trump Twitter: I Watched ‘SNL’ Last Night, It Is A Totally One-Sided, Biased Show — Nothing Funny At All [Videos]
President-elect Donald Trump has lit into SNL once more on Twitter, with the official Trump account publishing a tweet criticizing the comedy show the morning after it aired. As seen in the above photo, Mr. Trump entered a vehicle at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster clubhouse on Saturday, November 19, the same day the SNL episode in question aired.
On Trump’s Twitter account, the President-elect noted that he watched portions of SNL, and claimed to have found the show not funny.
“I watched parts of @NBCSNL Saturday Night Live last night. It is a totally one-sided, biased show — nothing funny at all. Equal time for us?”
Which SNL videos could President-elect Trump have found not very funny? Well, SNL opened with their “Donald Trump Prepares Cold Open — SNL” video, which has gained more than 80,000 views in the six hours since the video was uploaded to YouTube.
The video’s description explains that it explores how Mr. Trump might have reacted once he realized he would become the next president of the U.S., and exactly what the job entailed.
“When faced with making good on his campaign promises, President-elect Donald Trump (Alec Baldwin) starts to panic.”
SNL also visited the potential fears and musings of President-elect Trump during their “Weekend Update” segment, which made fun of Mr. Trump potentially splitting his time living in his “big boy bed” in Trump Tower in New York, as opposed to living full-time in the White House.
Other SNL videos peripherally related to Mr. Trump’s presidential victory include ones like the above, titled “Target Commercial – SNL,” which has grown to enjoy nearly 20,000 views in five hours.
“Target’s got everything you need this Thanksgiving, including a big, empty parking lot you can just come sit in for a sec.”
The SNL sketch displayed what it might be like for some folks who return home for Thanksgiving and learn to deal with the opposing political views of their parents by escaping to Target momentarily. The parking lot of Target becomes a sanctuary to just “sit for a sec,” and breathe in cold air, recline one’s seat and make eye contact with a person doing the exact same thing in order to decompress.
The interior of Target, according to SNL, becomes a place to have a drink, browse through Mossimo clothing and rest in the toy aisle.
Another popular Trump-related SNL video is titled “The Bubble – SNL,” which has grown to more than 16,000 views on YouTube in five hours. The SNL sketch imagined what life would be like if folks who did not vote for President-elect Trump began living under a dome-like bubble in 2017.
“In The Bubble, life continues for progressive Americans as if the election never happened.”
Within the bubble on SNL, people with like-minded views sit around and agree with one another as they drink raw milk, rifle through used bookstores and bemoan the fact that no firefighters or police want to live under the bubble with them.
The “Cut for Time: Thanksgiving Foods – SNL” received more than 11,000 views in four hours.
“Wisten Kriig (Kristen Wiig), Marcus (Kenan Thompson) and Darnell (Bobby Moynihan) can’t wait to discover what their Thanksgiving table has in store for them this year.”
Wiig played a woman who could not contain her excitement in the “Surprise Lady: Thanksgiving – SNL” video, which has swelled to more than 14,000 views in five hours.
“Sue (Kristen Wiig) can’t contain her excitement when she learns Paul (Pete Davidson) will be making a surprise appearance at Thanksgiving.”
The “Whiskers R We with Kristen Wiig — SNL” video has gained nearly 30,000 views on YouTube in five hours.
“Barbara DeDrew (Kate McKinnon) and Furonica (Kristen Wiig) show off the cats available for adoption during the Thanksgiving Catacopia giveaway.”
Other SNL videos included the “Secret Word with Kristen Wiig – SNL” video, which has gotten more than 32,000 views in six hours.
“Mindy Elise Grayson (Kristen Wiig) and Isabella Lolacopolla (Cecily Strong) compete on Secret Word, hosted by Grant Choad (Kenan Thompson).”
