Nick Gordon ‘Legally Responsible’ For Bobbi Kristina Death, Ordered To Pay $36M
Bobby Brown sobbed in court, but justice finally prevailed for his late daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Nick Gordon was ordered by a judge to pay $36 million.
Nick Gordon has been ordered to pay the estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown $36 million after he was found “legally responsible” in the estate’s wrongful death lawsuit.
According to Radar Online, Fulton County Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford ruled that Gordon would have to pay up, although it was less than the $50 million that the family had originally demanded.
“To determine the value of a life is pretty difficult.”
The judge claimed that most of the delays came from the tough decision of how much money would bring justice to the situation.
Atlanta’s 11Alive News reported that the total includes $1.575 million that Gordon stole from Bobbi Kristina’s account, $4.45 million in punitive damages, $15 million for the present value of her life (including future earning potential that will not be realized), $13.8 million for pain and suffering, and $1.37 million for assault and battery.
Nick Gordon did not even show up in court to hear his sentencing. The judge took Gordon’s absence as an admission of guilt to all of the Brown estate’s allegations.
Judge Bedford listened to emotional testimonies from Bobby Brown, his oldest daughter, LaPrincia, and other friends and family of Whitney Houston’s daughter before issuing the ruling.
LaPrincia recalled the difficult days and months following her half-sister’s drowning.
“I played music to her a lot. I could see her eyes looking around the room. She would cough. She would yawn. It didn’t seem right that she couldn’t communicate. She’d blink and more tears could come. I feel like she could see me but couldn’t say anything.”
Radar previously reported that Bobby Kristina Brown’s autopsy revealed that there was marijuana, alcohol, a cocaine-related substance, benzodiazepines, and morphine in her system at the time of death.
Brown’s estate claimed in court documents that Nick Gordon had injected her with a “toxic” mixture which caused her drowning on January 31, 2015. She died at the age of 22 on July 26, 2015, after lying in a coma for months.

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s father, Bobby Brown, is satisfied with the judge’s ruling.
“I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings.
“I do know that Mr. Gordon will be unable to slander my daughter’s name in the future or obtain any benefits from the use of Krissy’s name.”
However, Brown said that he hoped that Gordon would be prosecuted sooner rather than later.
“Finally, I do need for the District Attorney’s Office to step up and begin the criminal prosecution of Mr. Gordon. The delay in that matter is of great concern to me and my family. We need for District Attorney Howard to act now.”
Bobbi Kristina’s estate attorney, R. David Ware, told E! News that they fully intend to get justice for the daughter of Whitney Houston.
“We intend to pursue, with all vigor, the full collection of the judgment.
“The defendant will not escape justice nor ever profit from his misdeeds. We hope that in some small way this will allow Krissy’s family to continue their quest for peace.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown is the only child of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. The iconic pop star tragically passed away at the age of 48 in 2012.
It was well known that Bobbi Kristina struggled with emotional distress and depression after the death of her mother.
Nick Gordon was coincidentally also present at the time Whitney Houston passed away from an overdose.
