Pam Hupp, Betsy Faria on ‘Dateline’ NBC: Did Alleged Lesbian Lover Kill Cancer-Stricken Wife And Elderly Mother?

Published on: November 18, 2016 at 12:49 PM

Another exciting episode of Dateline NBC airs this Friday with an update in the case of Betsy Faria. The Missouri wife was murdered in her Troy home more than five years ago, and her husband, Russ Faria, was arrested and convicted in her death. His conviction was eventually overturned. That update was also aired on Dateline NBC’s last episode.

However, this week, the mystery continues as Dateline producers report on another twist in this bizarre murder story. In Friday’s episode titled “Stranger Than Fiction,” the coverage will include the recent murder indictment against Pam Hupp, the same woman who was the last to see Betsy Faria alive and who claimed to be Betsy Faria’s lesbian lover, according to Fox-2 Now.

Dateline NBC’s “Stranger Than Fiction” With An Update to the “Return to Game Night” Episode

In 2015, the Inquisitr brought you the Betsy Faria story, which was scheduled to air on Dateline NBC’s episode, “Return to Game Night.” The coverage began with Russ Faria finding the body of his wife, Betsy Faria, in their home. The dead woman, who was also terminally ill with cancer, had been stabbed more than 50 times. Russ Faria made a gut-wrenching phone call to 911.

According to Russ Faria, he had just returned from his friend’s house, where he had been playing a game. He was shocked and horrified to find his wife murdered. Police focused on Russ right away despite his solid alibi. Eventually, he was charged with Elizabeth Faria’s murder and later sent to prison for life.

A Chilling Connection

But the case doesn’t end there. Someone else had been the last person to see Betsy just hours before she died. The “someone else” turned out to be her friend, Pam Hupp. It was learned that Hupp had accompanied a sick Betsy Faria to the library. Betsy reportedly made Pam beneficiary of her life insurance policy. Pam seemed like a likely suspect, but it was Russ Faria who ended up taking the fall.

Russ Faria always said he didn’t do it. He fought tirelessly to have someone look at his case again. A second look at the case resulted in Russ Faria’s release from prison. However, it still left the Betsy Faria case unsolved. Now, there are even more questions since Pam Hupp is involved in another murder case that has ended in her arrest.

Death Seems To Follow Pam Hupp

That case involves the death of Louis Gumpenberger, a 33-year-old man who was shot dead by Pam Hupp a few months back. According to Fox-2 Now , Pam Hupp told dispatchers that she killed him in self-defense after he confronted her in her driveway and put a knife to her throat.

However, police didn’t buy her story, and the evidence showed that Pam Hupp allegedly killed an innocent man to frame Russ Faria for attempting to kill her. That theory is bolstered by the items found in the dead man’s possession, and the story of another woman, who told detectives that Pam tried to lure her into the same trap.

This latest death case should make authorities question Pam Hupp’s role, if any, in the death of her friend, Elizabeth Betsy Faria.

But there is one more strange twist. Pam Hupp’s mother also died under mysterious circumstances. According to KMOV , 77-year-old Shirley Neumann fell to her death from a balcony in 2013. KMOV describes the discovery of the body.

“Hupp reportedly told staff that Neumann would not be down for dinner or breakfast. Later the next day, a staff member went to Neumann’s apartment to check on her. She reportedly found the door cracked, water running in the bathroom, and Neumann’s body below the balcony.”

It seems that bodies are piling up around Pam Hupp. However, there has yet to be a conviction. Until then, she’s innocent until proven guilty.
