‘Fairy Tail’ Manga Chapter 510: Emotional Journey Through Heart Of E.N.D., Natsu Reveals Terrible Secret, Sting To Battle Lacarde [Spoilers]

The Fairy Tail manga appears to have entered into some dark themes after Zeref and Lacarde’s appearance. While the duo has certainly bought joy, their entry has been marked with several incidents filled with grief and despair. Chapter 510 of the immensely popular Japanese manga Fairy Tail takes its fans through an emotional journey within Natsu’s heart and reveals multiple aspects of his childhood that shaped the protagonist.

Warning: Fairy Tail manga Chapter 510 spoilers and 511 speculations are ahead.

In the previous chapter, Jellal and the Oracion Seis picked a fight that was way beyond their abilities. They were completely dominated in their battle against August. The strongest Spriggan 12 member forced the two to fall to his feet completely exhausted and subdued. August doesn’t hide his deep disappointment with Jellal, lamenting the latter should have kept on walking on the dark path. August adds that staying on the dark side might have been the only way to challenge and defeat someone of his caliber. Jellal, on the other hand, explains it was because of Erza Scarlet that he has chosen to amend his ways.

The current chapter reveals Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, and Juvia lying bruised and battered. The rest of the members appear quite tired after their individual encounters, and the battle with the combined forces of the Alvarez Empire and the Spriggan 12. Using her powers, Brandish manages to shrink Gray’s wounds. Wendy, on the other hand, is instrumental in ensuring Juvia is on the road to recovery. However, everyone agrees that the real concern is Natsu, who hasn’t opened his eyes. Moreover, none of the guild members with abilities to heal have been able to diagnose or treat Natsu’s condition, which appears to be deteriorating with each passing minute.

While other group members conclude Natsu could be transforming into Etherious Natsu Dragneel or E.N.D., Lucy strongly protests it might not be the case and claims he is very straightforward and honest. Meanwhile, Randi whispers in Brandi’s years that Lucy’s judgment is clouded because “she is totally head over heels for him.” Lucy notes that is was Natsu who brought her to the guild.

Suddenly, smoke starts emanating from Natsu, but he isn’t burning. Instead, Natsu gets transported to a strange world where he meets Zeref. Instinctively, Natsu boils with rage, but Zeref calmly cautions against attacking him, since the duo is inside Natsu’s heart, and no one has a physical form that can be hurt. After Natsu flies right through Zeref, he comes to terms with the strange reality.

Fans of the Fairy Tail manga were in for a shock when Zeref says Natsu will die soon. Zeref clarifies that his presence in Natsu’s heart was to “fill in the gaps” of Natsu’s lost memories. Zeref adds that the memories he is referring to are prior to Natsu waking up in X777, reported News Everyday. When Natsu interjects saying he was with Igneel, Zeref confirms the memories he is referring to predate the same.

The next scene shows a peaceful village. Zeref points out to a family of four and says the adults were their parents. It was confirmed in the earlier chapters that Natsu and Zeref are brothers. Zeref notes that the village was attacked and destroyed by a dragon. While everyone except Zeref were killed, he did not give up, and through his tireless research, managed to resurrect Natsu as his very last “Demon E.N.D”

Zeref reveals he had entrusted Natsu’s upbringing to Igneel. He adds that Natsu’s inability to remember much is a side effect of the Dragon Soul Ceremony. After Natsu was brought back to life, he gradually met Gajeel and the rest of the slayers. Although Zeref wasn’t around, he narrates Natsu’s life and friendly encounters with Wendy, Sting, and Rogue.

Surprisingly, Sting Eucliffe appears in Natsu’s heart, just as Zeref disappears. Sting confirms that Natsu erased Zeref’s virtual presence in his own consciousness. Natsu appears confused, but Sting promises to answer all his questions and reveal what exactly is lurking inside the E.N.D.’s body.

The scene then shifts to the bloody encounter between Kagura and Lacarde. Tired and defeated, Kagura is lying on the ground. In the previous chapter, Lacarde had managed to stop the Mermaid Heel member’s sword attack with his bare hand, and then proceeded to unleash the “Pleasure and Agony” attack. Fairy Tail mangaka Hiro Mashima hadn’t explicitly confirmed if Lacarde delivered the finishing blow, but it is apparent that the latter survived. However, the battle has had a very bad effect on her.

Just as the Fairy Tail Guild is about to lose hope, Sting appears. Addressing Lacarde, Sting says his guild-mates were quite hammered in his absence. Displaying his serenity, Lacarde stands calmly, and provokes Sting, just as he had challenged Kagura. As expected, Sting’s powerful attack has absolutely no effect on Lacarde. Suddenly, Sting is engulfed in light tentacles spewed by Lacarde. While the guild members appear petrified, Sting claims “no ‘white’ is gonna work on me.” He adds the ability to resist the “white” is one of the perks of being the “white dragon slayer.” While Sting doesn’t know for sure, he says Lacarde’s “stench” reminds him of his friend Natsu.

The next chapter of Fairy Tail is titled “Hunger Hell.” It is possible the chapter will reveal the epic battle between Lacarde Dragneel and the leader of the Sabertooth Guild. Since the light tentacles had a mild effect on Sting, Lacarde might have finally met his match, reported GameNGuide. Hence, fans of the Fairy Tail manga can expect a more evenly matched fight between the two when Fairy Tail Chapter 511 releases.
