‘Days Of Our Lives’: Billy Flynn Talks ‘Chabby’ – Abigail Betrayed Chad, DiMera Follows His Heart, But With Abby Or Gabi? [Spoilers]

Days Of Our Lives fans are wondering what is going to happen with Abigail Devereaux. Last Thursday, Marci Miller made her debut as the new Abby. Chad and Abigail have not encountered each other face-to-face yet, but it is only a matter of time. Recently, Billy Flynn spoke about Chad DiMera, the couple known as “Chabby” as well as Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). He explained that in a way, Abigail betrayed Chad. Is there a chance for Chad and Abigail or will he move on with Gabi?

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) will find out Abigail is alive later this week. She will faint and the two will have a conversation. First, about where Abigail has been all this time. Then, Abby will share her concerns about Chad DiMera. Billy Flynn spoke to She Knows regarding “Chabby.” What insight did the Days Of Our Lives actor share with fans?

First, Flynn doesn’t want fans too upset with Chad and Gabi getting closer. While Abigail’s presumed death is pretty recent, Chad has actually been grieving the loss of Abby for quite a while. Back when she started to have hallucinations of Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) is when Chad felt he was losing his wife. So, he has actually been mourning Abigail for longer than fans think.

With Abigail’s return to Days Of Our Lives, how will Chad DiMera react? It will be difficult. Flynn explained that in a way, he feels that Abigail betrayed him. All of this time, he thought that Abby was dead. As fans know, she has been alive and well due to Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) and Laura Horton (Jamie Lyn Bauer).

“It’s a different dynamic. It has all the same elements of Chad and Abigail, it’s just that they’ve grown, she’s left, she betrayed him in a lot of [ways]… it’s going to be hard for Chad because he follows his heart. You can’t turn that off.”

Days Of Our Lives spoilers from Soap Opera Digest tease that Chad and Gabi will share a close moment. They will also meet to discuss their “changing relationship.” However, in an interview with executive producer Ken Corday, it was hinted that there might be hope for both Chad and Abigail as well as JJ and Gabi. He said both couples have obstacles and issues to work through, but wants fans to root for them. That doesn’t say with certainty if thinks will get better for “Chabby” or JJ and Gabi. However, it does give some fans hope that eventually, things might work out.

Billy Flynn also said that Chad DiMera has lost pretty much everyone he has ever loved. Right now, he is at a point where he is tired of feeling sad. He is tired of grieving. Even though he loves and misses Abigail, there is also a bit of a relief.

“His entire relationship with Abigail… she’s the love of his life, but it’s never been easy, it’s always been a struggle, always been a fight. I think there is a sense of… it sounds terrible, but it’s a weight off his shoulders. He misses her dearly, but for the first time… for as hard as life is, it’s a little bit easier. He’s not running into burning buildings anymore, getting his a** kicked by Ben.”
