‘WWE Monday Night Raw’ Results: Brock Lesnar Backs Down From Goldberg

Survivor Series 2016 was the focus of this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw, as the leaders of the red brand invited their rivals from SmackDown Live to join them on the same night that Brock Lesnar and Goldberg came face-to-face in a WWE ring for the first time since WrestleMania XX. The sibling rivalry between Shane and Stephanie McMahon continued to heat up, and the healthy competition between General Managers Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan was on display as well. While all three teams representing Raw at the Survivor Series were trying to put their differences aside, Lesnar and Goldberg only got more intense.

This was also the first time that Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar were scheduled for an appearance at the same Monday Night Raw since Lesnar attacked McMahon at SummerSlam after his bloody match against Randy Orton.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results

The following includes the results of all the matches and segments from WWE Raw on November 14, which aired live from the Keybank Center in Buffalo, New York. Raw has won the “ratings war” ever since the separate rosters were established, although SmackDown Live continues to keep the competition close. Will appearances from Lesnar, Goldberg, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon — not to mention the rest of the build-up towards WWE Survivor Series 2016 — be enough to keep the ratings victory streak alive for Raw?

Raw Pre-Show on the WWE Network

Scott Stanford hosted the Raw Pre-Show, and was joined by Lita, Booker T and Jerry “The King” Lawler in the studio. Cathy Kelley provided an update regarding the WWE Universe and all things social media, while Charly Caruso provided an update from backstage at the live event.

Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley announced Survivor Series-related matches

In an effort to prove that the members of Team Raw will be able to work together on at Sunday’s PPV event, the Commissioner and General Manager of Monday Night Raw announced several tag team matches for this week’s Raw in the opening segment of the show. Seth Rollins, Chris Jericho and Braun Strowman will team up to face The New Day in a 6-Man Tag Team Match. Charlotte and Sasha Banks will team up to face Nia Jax and Alicia Fox. And the first match of the night will be Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns.

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns defeated Cesaro and Sheamus

Demonstrating that they can get along just well enough to function, the WWE Universal Champion and WWE United States Champion got the win over another pair of guys who don’t see eye-to-eye outside of the ring. As Owens and Reigns were arguing, Sheamus hit the former with a Brogue Kick, before taking a Spear from the latter and getting pinned.

Sami Zayn defeated Bo Dallas

Building momentum before his WWE Intercontinental Championship Match at Survivor Series, Sami Zayn got a decisive victory over Bo Dallas after an altercation between the two backstage. Currently set to battle Dolph Ziggler, Zayn could end up facing The Miz on Sunday, if The Showoff drops the title on the 900th episode of SmackDown Live this week.

Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman and Chris Jericho defeated The New Day

While they would otherwise be natural rivals, the team of Rollins, Strowman and Jericho functioned well enough together during the match to get a solid win over the Raw Tag Team Champions. After the match, however, things went sour as The Architect attacked Y2J while Braun looked on with indifference.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Sin Cara

In a backstage segment that aired earlier in the show, the rest of the WWE Cruiserweight Division expressed their displeasure with — and lack of confidence in — The Brian Kendrick. After saying that his former tag team partner Kalisto would make a more respectable champion, Sin Cara lost his non-title match against the current titleholder.

Brock Lesnar walked away from a fight with Goldberg

Predictably, even with a ring full of security guards, things got physical when Lesnar and Goldberg were in the ring together for the first time in twelve years. Once the security was cleared from the ring and both competitors for Sunday’s main event ripped of their shirts, it appeared as though they would come to blows. As Goldberg eagerly awaited the confrontation, The Beast Incarnate chose instead to simply walk away.

RELATED REPORTS BY THE INQUISITR

Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax and Alicia Fox

While they were able to work together enough to get a victory over another pair of bitter rivals, the inner turmoil among Team Raw was apparent during this match. Bayley provided guest commentary and remained optimistic about their chances at Survivor Series.

Enzo and Big Cass, Gallows and Anderson defeated The Golden Truth and The Shining Stars

For almost the entire match, Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were able to function as a team. While Goldust, R-Truth, Epico and Primo struggled the entire match, the only real incident for the winning team was when Anderson and Gallows acted as if they were going to let Enzo Amore hit the Bada Boom Shakalaka but pinned their opponents before Enzo could get airborne.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan brought reinforcements

After Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon joined Stephanie and Mick in the ring for the final segment of Raw, they were presented with all five members of the red brand’s team for the Men’s 5-on-5 Elimination Match at Survivor Series. When it looked like Owens, Jericho, Rollins, Reigns and Strowman were about to make things physical, the management from SmackDown Live informed everyone that they didn’t show up alone. Of course, that meant Styles, Ambrose, Wyatt, Orton and even James Ellsworth came to the ring to back up their Commissioner. As expected, a brawl broke out. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns were the last men standing.

State of the WWE Universe on the WWE Network

As Renee Young was waiting for Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan and the McMahon siblings, she was joined by Paul Heyman. He talked mostly about the fact that the WWE Universe was playing right into their hands by building Goldberg up as a superhero. When all of the management showed up, the four of them were seated and answered Survivor Series questions raised by Renee Young in a mostly civil manner.
