Rockstar Games Removes The Unlock Requirements On More ‘GTA Online’ Heist Vehicles This Week For The Third Anniversary Of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’
For the past several weeks, Rockstar Games has offered fans a series of different in-game discounts and events within Grand Theft Auto Online in celebration of the title’s third anniversary. Continuing to shower players with discounts, the developer is currently holding another sale on select vehicles, properties, and ammunition that will run through the end of this week.
As the Inquisitr reported earlier this month, Rockstar Games previously gave users the chance to pick up specific vehicles in GTA Online that can normally only be unlocked after successfully completing the game’s challenging co-op heist missions. While the initial set of heist vehicles are no longer on sale, the developer has announced on their Rockstar Newswire blog that a second round of the heist equipment is now discounted for 25 percent off.
Furthermore, the affected vehicles are once again available for all Grand Theft Auto Online fans to purchase regardless of whether they have formally been unlocked by completing the corresponding heists or not. However, users must act fast because the completion requirements are being waived for this week only.
The two heist vehicles that have been opened to all this week are the Savage military helicopter and the Karin Technical off-road truck. The Savage, which can normally only be owned by those who have completed the Convoy setup mission for the Pacific Standard heist, can be purchased from the Warstock Cache and Carry website within GTA Online. The Karin Technical is also sold on the Warstock site and is usually unlocked by completing the Series A Funding heist.
The Savage is a heavily armored helicopter that comes equipped with homing missiles similar to GTA V‘s Buzzard Attack Chopper. However, the Savage can fire its payload faster than the Buzzard. The heist-exclusive Savage is also armed with a machine gun that is capable of firing explosive rounds.
Meanwhile, the variant Karin Technical is an off-road pickup truck just like the street legal model. However, the version unlocked through heists also features a 50 caliber machine gun attached to the bed of the 4×4 vehicle. Due to this deadly attachment, however, players can’t store the Technical in their personal garage. Like all military vehicles, the special Karin must be delivered to users via GTA Online‘s Pegasus service.
Both of these vehicles can now be purchased by all Grand Theft Auto V players until next Monday. All ballistic ammunition and throwable explosives are also on sale through November 21.
This week’s GTA Online savings were introduced alongside the release of the Tron-inspired Nagasaki Shotaro motorcycle. To accompany the launch of the Shotaro, Rockstar Games also added the new Deadline Adversary Mode which pays further homage to the iconic bikes of Tron. In Deadline, players will take command of the new Shotaro motorbike. As seen in Tron, the bikes leave a light trail behind them which cause their competitors to crash if they come in contact with these luminous trails. Deadline contestants will also earn bonus rewards for a limited time. Additionally, anyone who buys a the Shotaro motorcycle will also unlock exclusive shirts customizations in GTA Online featuring the Nagasaki logo.

Step in the arena now and earn Double GTA$ and RP through November 21st.”
This month’s anniversary celebration in Grand Theft Auto Online marks the first time that the special heist vehicles have been temporarily available for anyone to purchase. Rockstar Games hasn’t said if they have any more plans to remove the completion requirements from other heist vehicles in the future.
