‘RHOA’ Star Kenya Moore Believes Phaedra Parks Betrayed Kandi Burruss
On the latest Real Housewives of Atlanta episode, which aired on Sunday night, viewers saw Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks get along pretty well at Kenya’s Moore Manor housewarming party. It was likely shocking for many viewers to see them being friendly with one another. After all, they argued and hurled insults at one another for several seasons over Phaedra’s accusation that Kenya wanted her then-husband, Apollo Nida.
The friendship is apparently real. During Kenya’s appearance on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live after the latest Real Housewives episode aired, Kenya confirmed that she is indeed friends with Phaedra.
“I think it’s a beautiful thing that people can evolve and they can forgive and they can move forward. Phaedra and I started off being friends, so it’s familiar, our friendship, and it’s just us getting to know each other again.”
So where does that leave Kandi Burruss? In earlier seasons, Kandi and Phaedra were very close friends, but that friendship broke down during the previous two seasons, with both blaming the other for the breakdown of their friendship. Meanwhile, Kandi and Kenya got closer. Now that Kenya is friends with both Kandi and Phaedra, whose side is she on? During the after-show portion of Watch What Happens Live, a viewer asked Kenya that question. Kenya said that she’s not taking sides but added that she believes Phaedra is the one at fault.
“Whose side? I don’t really take sides. I’m on the right side, I guess? I just think that Phaedra and I are in a good place right now but I do believe that she did betray Kandi to a certain degree. So I would have to say that. Kandi’s very honest. She’s very straightforward…”
Andy thought that Kenya’s statement meant she believes Phaedra called the feds on Kandi. Andy brought up the accusation, which was made last season, that it was Phaedra who tipped off the feds that Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, were in possession of some of Apollo’s property. Kenya clarified that she believes that Phaedra did betray Kandi in regard to their friendship but that she wasn’t referring to the fed accusation. Kenya added that she doesn’t know who called the feds.
“Did he [the caller] say feds? He said the demise of their friendship…No the feds didn’t come into play in that question, I don’t think. Yeah, just overall right? Right, you know know it’s complicated…but Kandi’s pretty straightforward. I know Kandi to be 100% honest. I respect her the most for that. I would have to say that I believe Kandi in everything’s that happened. You know, I don’t know who called the feds, if they were even called.”
As some viewers may recall, on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8, Todd and Kandi agreed to store some of Apollo’s property, including a four-wheeler and a motorbike, in their garage while he served his eight-year prison sentence. On a later episode, Porsha Williams told Phaedra that federal authorities showed up to Todd and Kandi’s house to take possession of Apollo’s property since he owed the government restitution. Phaedra didn’t seem all that surprised and made the comment that she hopes Kandi and Todd are taking the situation seriously because the feds are not to be messed with. When Porsha asked Phaedra if she was the one who tipped off the feds, Phaedra denied it.

After that episode aired, Kandi appeared on Watch What Happens Live and gave her opinion on whether she believes Phaedra had anything to do with the feds showing up at her house. Kandi didn’t exactly clear Phaedra’s name.
“That episode where [Phaedra] and I were trying to resolve our issues, and she was like ‘Well, the feds have been coming to me about his stuff,’ that aired that week [the feds visited]. But then she also was upset with Todd about something that he tweeted or something. It was so weird because then a couple days later this happened, so I didn’t know if it was because of the TV show or if it was because she was upset. I didn’t know. The timing of it was so weird.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Phaedra later lashed out at Kandi for implying that she might have tipped off the feds. In an interview with Porsha for Dish Nation, Phaedra pointed out that after the feds came, Kandi still went to her Christmas party, allowed her to throw her a baby shower and accepted her as a visitor in the hospital after she gave birth to her son. Phaedra wondered why Kandi would possibly believe that she had something to do with the feds’ visit but then continue the charade of a friendship.
If Kenya Moore wasn’t referring to the feds when she said that she believes Phaedra Parks did betray Kandi Burruss, then what was she referring to? In the previous seasons, Kandi and Phaedra’s friendship also broke down due to Phaedra telling others, namely NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams, that Kandi wasn’t very supportive of her during the demise of her marriage to Apollo. Kandi didn’t like that Phaedra was talking to others about their friendship instead of directly to her. Also, Phaedra and Kandi’s husband, Todd Tucker, got into a dispute over what money was owed for a workout video that Todd produced for Phaedra and Apollo years ago. Kandi took Todd’s side in the money dispute.
The second episode of Season 9 showed Kandi and Phaedra having some awkward moments together. They didn’t really talk to one another at Kenya’s housewarming party or at Porsha’s team-building exercise event. As the episode aired, Kandi answered some questions regarding her and Phaedra. In one tweet, Kandi said that she and Phaedra didn’t talk to one another at Porsha’s event, where she and Phaedra were put together on the same team, because they haven’t really been talking one-on-one for the past few years but only in group situations.
we didn't speak to each other because we haven't really been talking one on one for the last … https://t.co/mYQwkBD1Kh

Kandi admitted that it really was as awkward as it looked and that they really didn’t say anything to one another.

In response to another viewer who accused Kandi of talking behind Phaedra’s back, Kandi pointed out that Phaedra does the same thing.
RT @Hippie_Bae: @Kandi & company stillllllll talkin bout Phaedra behind her back, I see ??<- just like she talk behind mind… ??
— Kandi Burruss (@Kandi) November 14, 2016
Kandi further pointed out that they’re on a reality TV show, so by necessity, they have to talk about one another.
RT @LaDyPe3: @Kandi @Hippie_Bae but does that make it ok tho khandi ?<– it's not OK but this is a show. … https://t.co/xY0N2XDAW3

While Kandi Burruss’ relationship with Phaedra Parks is still rocky, Kenya Moore’s friendship with Phaedra friendship is still going well. In fact, Kenya didn’t throw any shade towards Phaedra when a viewer, during the after-show portion of Watch What Happens Live, brought up Phaedra’s odd reaction to Moore Manor during Kenya’s housewarming party. Instead of criticizing Phaedra for giving a less-than-impressed reaction to Moore Manor, Kenya simply said that Phaedra always gives funny looks and reactions.
“I mean, she’s a walking emoji. I mean you just have to take it. [Laughs].”
