‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’: ‘Lost Footage’ Episode Topics Included Gay Slurs
The Real Housewives of New JerseyLost Footage special was filled with all the juicy tidbits which did not make it onto the air during the regular season. Bravo host Andy Cohen did not hold back when questioning cast members about their prior drama-filled statements. The RHONJLost Footage episode focused primarily on gay slurs, jail time debates, and alleged fake apologies.
Cohen called Joe Giudice to task for a joke the Bravo host considered offensive and a slur at gays. Giudice did not deny his comment, he simply noted the phrase used was the type of speech he had grown up with, according to Radar Online.
Teresa’s husband had this to say about what was viewed as a homosexual slur:
“Growing up, we always used the word … we called each other, f****t, homo, or whatever, doesn’t mean anything. We were friends. We call each other names all the time, it doesn’t mean we’re gay. We just would use that word for whatever reason, that just was in our vocabulary. It was just a word that everybody used. Now, I don’t use the word anymore because it’s not appropriate and people don’t want to hear that, so I don’t use it.”
Jacqueline Laurita was not willing to let Joe get by with his excuse, without pointing out that he has uttered similar offense barbs at his wife. Teresa Giudice’s former bestie had this to say about Joe’s vocabulary:
“Yeah, like the ‘c-word’ is a term of endearment for your wife. I think it’s more ignorance than malicious.”
Former Real Housewives of New Jersey fan favorite, Dina Manzo, was also discussed during the Lost Footage special. Dina and her sister Caroline are allegedly not on speaking terms, due to the contention between the elder sibling and Teresa. Joe’s looming legal troubles and the possibility of jail time were also a primary focus during the RHONJ series special. Discussions about real vs. fake apologies also featured prominently in the broadcast.
All of the current New Jersey housewives are slated to return next season, with the possible addition of two new Teresa-friendly cast members.
