Kendall Jenner Sheds Her Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings For La Perla

Last year, Kendall Jenner was a Victoria’s Secret Angel, but this year she’s a feminist model for La Perla. It could be one of the reasons why she was assumed not to in the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside Gigi and Bella Hadid. Kendall is stripping down to feminist lingerie for the competing luxury lingerie brand.

Kendall Jenner teased fans when she wore provocative lingerie from the Spring 2017 collection, posing alongside Isabeli Fontana and Liu Wen for fashion photographer Steven Klein, as reported via The Sun. The feminist theme is seen all throughout the photo shoot, which images of an open Victorian corset, a burning bra, and a shattered glass ceiling.

“The liberation of every woman from the need to suffer for beauty,” explains La Perla’s art director Fabien Baron, according to E! News.

According to the lingerie brand’s creative director, Julia Haart, the reason why they chose Jenner is because is best the model “to interpret the highly innovative path that the brand has set out on.”

“Kendall’s contemporary charism adds an unmistakable touch to every garment, simultaneously highlighting the modernity and the relaxed, self-assured elegance of each piece she wears,” she continued. “What we’re trying to do with this ready-to-wear collection is bring something newer to the market. I think women want a new choice, and what I mean by that is I think women have been told their entire lives that you have to suffer for beauty. Well, I don’t believe in that, and I would like to give women a new choice.”

Kendall is not particularly shy about showing off her body these days. She has gone braless and has even advocated the #FreeTheNipple movement on her website and app. Kendall also shared a photo of herself wearing no bra on her Instagram page earlier this week, according to The Sun. And to oblige by Instagram’s strict no nudity policy, she strategically placed two pizza emojis to her nipples.

Jenner does not see what all the fuss is about when she chooses to go braless. She has hinted in the past that she’s a bit of a feminist, especially when it comes to her fashion choices. The model recently opened up on her blog about her reason for freeing the nipple and choosing not to wear a bra.

“Lately, it’s like I’m either braless or I have my bra out, lol,” she wrote, as cited by Entertainment Tonight. “I’m all about freeing the nipple and I just think it’s cool to show off what’s under your shirt – whether that’s a cute bralette or just skin.”

Earlier on this week, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star got political on Instagram when she told her 68.5 million followers to go out and vote on Election Day.

Then she chose to go braless when she attended her 21st birthday party in a sparkly silver dress earlier this month.

It was previously assumed that Kendall wouldn’t get to walk in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. However, according to Teen Vogue, it appears that Kendall will walk in the show once again this year. She was most recently seen attending a fitting for the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City on Sunday, Nov. 6, as seen on the photos posted on the Daily Mail.

During the sighting, Kendall was spotted wearing a pair of black skinny jeans paired with a black leather and fur motorcycle jacket over a white T-shirt. She topped of her look with navy blue velvet booties, a black studded belt, and a hot pink canvas tote bag.
