Taylor Swift Seeks ‘Catharsis’ In Tom Hiddleston & Calvin Harris Songs Amid Drake Rumors

Learning that Taylor Swift is writing new music is exciting, and when the news includes a report that the “Shake It Off” singer has already penned new songs about exes Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris, it’s even more intriguing. Add in the rumors that Swift is making sweet music with Drake, and fans of Taylor are feeling as if Christmas came early this year.

Through the years, Taylor’s famous breakup tunes have “undoubtedly mended more than a few broken hearts,” E! News pointed out. But will her sixth studio album carry on that tradition?

Since returning to the studio to meld magical melodies, Swift has “already written songs about exes Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris,” an insider told E! News. However, the media outlet cautioned that it’s possible those tunes about her exes will not be included in the album’s ultimate edit.

The “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” songstress and Harris were a couple for about a year and a half, with that romance ending in June. Taylor and Hiddleston were then together for a short-lived romantic relationship that ended in early September.

So with her relationships with Calvin and Tom over, will Swift be writing some sort of revenge songs or breakup anthems? An E! News insider revealed that the “You Belong With Me” singer has maintained a “totally amicable” relationship with Harris (whose real name is Adam Wiles) and Tom, and those songs mirror that.

“[Taylor] has spoken to Adam on text,” added the source, describing it as “a friendly check-in” discussion.

“[Swift] is on good terms with Tom at this point.”

As for more details on Taylor’s current relationship with Hiddleston, Gossip Cop debunked a recent report alleging that she and Tom were feuding.

The media outlet investigated a claim from OK! magazine that Taylor and Tom are involved in an “ongoing heated feud,” and reported that it is “nonsense.”

Gossip Cop also denied the allegations that Hiddleston and Swift had been in a “fake romance,” and cited an insider who revealed the entire story is not true.

“They dated briefly, and it didn’t work out,” Gossip Cop clarified to readers in addition to debunking the feud report.

The Cut described Taylor as “seeking catharsis” in its story about her new songs that reportedly focus on Hiddleston and Harris. The media outlet also noted her reported collaboration with Drake.

“Swift is hard at work on her sixth studio album, and she’s been collaborating with everyone’s favorite lovelorn Canadian, Drake, who may or may not be wooing Swift with a decadent selection of cat toys and accessories,” the publication informed readers.

As for the details on how Swift and Drake are making sweet music, the pop music princess and hip-hop artist are collaborating on music that is “different” and “very catchy,” an insider told E! News. Working together has been “great,” according to the source.

“They’ve both been having a great time in the studio.”

Beyond the collaboration, however, rumors have been swirling that the “Blank Space” songstress and Drake are dating, which E! News links to her presence at his recent 30th birthday party. But while some fans of the duo are busy shipping Drake and Swift as a couple, the insider clarified that their relationship is in the friendship zone.

“They are not dating or hooking up,” shared the source. “They are both purely friends.”

One of the attendees at Drake’s birthday party recalled the sight of them together during the party.

“At one point Drake and Taylor were seen near the DJ together talking, his arm over her shoulder for a minute like a real friend moment,” the observer told the media outlet. “It looked like they were talking about something deep.”

When it comes to all those rumors that Drake and Taylor are dating in addition to collaborating, the hip-hop artist heated up the speculation by sharing an Instagram photo of the two, pointed out Billboard.

Noting that “rumors have run rapid” that Drake and the “I Knew You Were Trouble” songstress are “dating,” Billboard commented that Drake seems to have added to the buzz with that picture on Instagram.

“Is that velvet?” asked Drake in the caption, referring to his black velvet clothing.
